So much prefer chatting with someone, especially if that someone is a great conversationalist. There are infinite possibilities in a conversation. I could talk to the same person a bunch of times and enjoy it every time, but I couldn't get the same experience reading a story multiple times.

If an author can write with the intensity and descriptive nature of Stephen King, the subject matter appeals to me, and I can identify with the characters, I prefer reading erotica. However, I am a tough critic and very few instances of erotica are appealing to me.

OTOH, the ability to shape a conversation and tailor the approach and outcome, even with a more rapid-fire pace and numerous typos, is rewarding due to the more personal nature. But... then again, I feel no sense of responsibility when I read erotica to ensure my partner is receiving gratification and that is a bit more liberating.

Huh, I think I might be difficult to please. Drats.

It's a lot more fun shaping a story with someone than following along. I also find I'm much more forgiving of typos and bad ideas in chatting.

Great responses chat seems to be favoured by most.

Sometimes writing is fun. I like writing brief passages of a scene and sharing them thru messaging. especially if the reader enjoys them and gets turned on by them. Kind of a story/chat mix.

Although I love to chat with the right person about my predilection of sharing my wife, both dialogue and reading about sex are an effort, although weak by comparison to the real thing, to get there, to actually having en erotic experience . . . although the controlled conditions of chat and literature can be intensely satisfying.

I like both. They give me an additional (to the real thing) chance to take my imagination for a walk, and often leads to my later living out my fantasies in real life with my wife.
