Wrote a little, new to forum, wanted to talk to other writers, maybe compliment my favorites, things along those lines.

'Guess I started this to be more social, simply because... I like being social. I figure this can be a good place for writers to unwind after their day.

Group Question 1: Why is it that people who read your things complain if it's too long? And you actually prefer to lay a good story before getting to the sex?

cuz for the most part, they just want to whack off. Ignore them and continue to write. If the length is conducive to the story, that's one thing...if it's excessive, then that's another thing.


But you'll eventually find your audience.

You know, that's one complaint I've never had in the three years I've been posting stuff. I always lay in a good story first. Usually. I'm just not as good at the sex stuff.

Stories are only too long if they're bad or boring. I've read quite a few that are too long after the first paragraph.

Let your story tell you how long it should be and nuts to the jacking hoardes who just want to get off as fast as they can as often as they can.

So what's everyone's hobby? I'm Dylan, and I'm a Sagittarius, I like reading, writing (hard to guess eh?) and Videogames. I am 18, and exiting highschool this year, (Parents held me back, daaaaaaamn them)

So besides that, we should get a grant topic of conversation.

Highschool is a great thing, (I guess I'll go by Meddy as a nickname)

Highschool had taught me 3 great fundaments, "Iligidimi non carbarendum" (Butchered latin for "Never let the bastards get you down")

You can't always be the good guy,

and best of all, Remember, you're only a teenager, things get worse.

Oh and also I learned sex, but I mean, gods, who didn't?

Question number Two!

Why is it that the people who don't introduce their characters much at all (like for example merely say they're cute, and their breast size) don't have to go back and edit it a bit to make the story, more than one page?

Note: I'm not marking at editors, I love them, and am one (not online) I'm simply marking bad authors who write one story and don't care after that.

I have no idea what the actual numbers are, but I would suppose that most authors who submit work to Literotica never use an editor at all.

I recently signed up under the new Volunteer Editor program and saw something about there eventually being ratings for editors by authors they've worked with. I'm kind of heartened by that especially since some of the editors I saw I have rather grave misgivings about.

When I look for an editor I generally choose someone I recognize from the boards as offering sound advice or whose stories I've read and found to be well-written.

As for things getting worse after your teen years, my experience has been the opposite. College was wonderful and while I have different problems now there is an amazing sense of peace that comes from being old enough to legally and socially be in charge of your own life. No one has the right to question my existence simply for committing the crime of being "young".

In a decent writer's hands I think that the sexual act has all the plot one needs.

After all, how many times have you heard someone making love complain that this was pointless and they were bored? (Other than from my lovers, I mean.)

It's not the lack of plot that annoys, it's the lack of ability.

Agree'd Dr. M, but still, I prefer, yeno, lots of background to get the reder involved, then the other chapters, plenty of good sex to fill it in.

And yes I've been called a bad lay, but not for 2 years, and have had n complaints since my moment with a 19 year old college girl who wanted to show me 'the propper way to 'play''

Alas MathGirl, I do, I hate it, but it's a job, you know? I only call in Ohio, and only for charity corporations like the OPBS Ohio Patrollmans Benevolent Association, which helps Ohio police officers out with the unions, and keeps their toold (cuffs, guns, walkie-talkies, and cars) working smoothe.

Also I work with orginazations relating to Missing Kids, Fire Departmants, War Vet's and family thereof, all non-profit and all for good causes... the only reason I Can do this, so please, don't be angry, I work on the light side of Phone Soliciting. (Besides, I'm 18, and in a small town, where else can I work?)

Awww, Perdita that's truly heartwarming... though I am bi *cough* mo I mean uhm, it's fine, I'm good as far as relationships go, besides, Odds of you getting to Northern Ohio within 4 hours are real slim, haha.

But anyway, yeah, it's not bad work, I get mostly hangups, the people who donate are usually already donating for similar groups that sponsor good charities and are willing to add another to the list and regularly donate (which is our bread and butter)

They accepted my non-erotic poem! ^_^ I'm so happy! I don't even think it's very good... but I'm happy! Well it's "Your Test, Dear Loki" in the non-erotic section, and yes it is reffering to the Norse god Loki, at the time, I was ranting a poem at him, and to be honest it was snowing lightly, and this was more or less a direct quote to him. (I often am caught arguing with the Norse Gods, they're fun!)

Well if anyone wants to read it then YAY! Give me honest feedback, I tak constructive criticism to a brutal level, thanks!
