re-submitting stories

hi,
new user here - still trying to learn how it all works!

so I submitted 2 stories, and then re-submitted them, in order to change the category they're in.

1 was re-upped in the same category, and the other was moved to a different category but not the one I had selected when re-submitting.

the only thing I can think of that I didn't do, was to include notes on why I was re-submitting. should I have put a note in highlighting the change of category?

The final category choice is down to Laurel, the site editor. She's usually pretty good at placing content in the best category.

If you think it's in the wrong category, you can resubmit (again), with the same title plus EDIT, including the whole story and a Note to the Editor, explaining why you prefer category x. Laurel may or may not agree.

My suggestion, though, would be to leave both stories where they are and see how they run.
