I re-wrote the first story I had submitted and had it an editor look at it. Should I state that it has been edited and I'm re-submitting under the same title or just submit it as if it's a new story.

To keep comments and your current score, resubmit as if you were submitting it for the first, except a - EDIT to the title. Also put in the notes field that this is an edit. Also to make Laurel's life a little easier include a link to the current story.

If you don't care about score or comments...

submit an empty story with that title and - DELETE to the end of the title. Don't forget to include the link to the story in the notes field.

Then when that is gone resubmit the new story.

The usual way is to submit it under EXACTLY the same title including spacing followed by EDITED and add a note in the Notes box that it is an Edited version of the original.

That way you keep the title, the views and the comments on the original story.

Thanks ! I did submit it but it was rejected, so I removed it. I re-wrote it, corrected the punctuation and let an editor check it over. This will be the first time it gets "published" if excepted.

In that case, you might want to add a comment to Laurel in the "notes" section that it is "a resubmission with errors noted in the rejection notice corrected."

.

You should be able to replace the text in the submission form of the original then just resubmit that.

Although I really don't know, it's been a long time since I have had a story rejected.
