Re-submission etiquette

I wrote a story recently that has received very few views so far, despite the fact that I believe it's the best story I've written for Lit. to date. I'm thinking that few readers have bothered to check out the story because of the odd title I chose, as well as the description of the story, which I now realize wasn't enticing enough.

I'd like to re-submit the story with a different title and description, but I'm not sure if that would be considered poor etiquette. As a reader, I would be annoyed if I clicked on what I thought was a new story and discovered that it was recycled under a different name.

Thoughts? Comments? Advice?

Joe, you could put a note at the beginning of the story explaining the change. If you're already resubmitting for the title change, you could add the note at the top of the story. It's your story so you can do what you like with it.

What the f**k is wrong with 'Behind the Green Door.' Sounds like a pretty good title to me. I know what you mean about titles though - as far as getting the readers numbers up. Every now and then I deliberately do the title to try and get those higher numbers, and goddamit, works every time. Geez people are shallow.

BEHIND THE GREEN DOOR is a title from 1972, came out about the same time as THE DEVIL IN MISS JONES.

BEHIND THE GREEN DOOR was a 1956 song and a 1940 mystery novel. The fuckflick's title plays on the line. It's a good suggestive name for anything now. Except maybe cat food.
