"OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Ray Rice won't get another chance with the Baltimore Ravens after all. There's no guarantee he gets another chance from the NFL either.

The Ravens announced they've terminated Rice's contract Monday afternoon, hours after TMZ.com posted video of the embattled running back punching his then-fiancée during an altercation at an Atlantic City hotel in February.

A short time later, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced he has indefinitely suspended Rice based on the new video evidence, which figured to scare off any team that might have contemplated signing him anyway.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello wouldn't say if Rice's ban is for a minimum of one year before he can apply for reinstatement under terms of the enhanced personal conduct policy Goodell announced last month in response to public outcry over Rice being suspended just two games.

"It's indefinite," Aiello wrote in an email to USA TODAY Sports.

For months, the Ravens had firmly supported Rice, 27, who was allowed to enter a pretrial intervention program that will dismiss the third-degree aggravated assault charge against him upon completion.

But that was before TMZ released disturbing video Monday morning of Rice punching Janay Palmer, who is now his wife. TMZ had originally posted video of Rice dragging Palmer's unconscious body out of the elevator."

What the fuck did these assholes think happened in the elevator before the video of the punch was released?

Maybe they thought he had gently and lovingly punched her unconscious. A love tap, if you will.

Must have. Going from a two game suspension to being cut from the team and suspended indefinitely from the entire league is a pretty big change of gears.

IMO the fact that he is an NFL star makes it no more and no less tragic than what happens every day. Get that resume shined up Mr. Rice. (I hope they don't have kids yet)

Oh, he won't need a resume, unless he really is a fool. He's made enough money already he should be set for life, easily. Should have money in eight figures.

You used the word SHOULD twice. That's the operative word. Even IF he does, which I doubt, how much will be left once she leaves his punk ass not that he's not making millions?

Well, I'm not feeling sorry for him. He's made an astronomical amount of money just because he can play a game, and he blows away another future fortune because he punches a woman half his size and knocks her clean out, then drags her out of the elevator with her ass hanging out, and acts totally unconcerned. Doesn't even pull her skirt down. Asshole.

But I'm also pissed at the Ravens and the NFL. I had kind of forgotten about this, but now it's right there, in my face again, and the whole thing of how they tried to let him slide just stinks.

I saw the footage of what he did to his gf. What a gutless asshole.

I'd pay good money to have two mins alone with him in an elevator.

No weapons.

No holds barred.

No warning.

Just me. :)

He should be in jail.

It shouldn't matter if you are rich or famous.

If you beat someone up you should be imprisoned.

I hope she can leave him safely before he takes her out or if they have kids he gets mad and hurts them.

I understand your anger, but I don't think you'd really want to be in that elevator. Ray Rice would hurt you.

Thank you for your kind concern. :)

20 years ago he would have been able to and I would have curled up in a ball and taken it.

Since then I have taken self defence classes and I do not look like I would say boo to a mouse. :D

I probably shouldn't say this, but I think your self defense classes have given you a little too much confidence. I'm larger than Ray Rice, but I wouldn't want to get in a fight with him. The guy is tough.

I know he's tough but I wasn't going to suggest he play a round of fisticuffs with me.

I would be just a little lady minding my own business and making moon eyes
at his amazing muscles.

I can dream of giving him a little love tap with no love involved. ;)

I think domestic violence is as big a crock of shit as is a hate crime.

;)

It was simple assault and battery. We need to take a cue from the President and endeavor to not do stupid shit...

Even HUSSEIN obama opened his fat mouth

WHY?

why is smacking a WOMAN different then doing it to a man?

A man punching an unarmed woman and knocking her unconscious is not simple assault and battery in my book. I was raised never to do that. Ever. And I never have. If I'm ever faced with a woman mean enough to whip my ass if I don't punch her and knock her out, I will just have to take an ass whipping from her, I guess, because I will not punch her. Slapping is another matter. I've never done it, but I could see myself doing that, under the right circumstances. Whole different level of violence.

So it's a completely different thing if ol' Ray knocks out the proverbial 90-lb weakling?

;)

Do you know how he was raised???

Yes, it's a different thing. Not saying it would be right, but different.

Some social conditioning is good.

Lefty loon...

What happened to that statue of justice? Did you grind away her blindfold?

HOW WAS RAY RICE RAISED?

Do you not understand the full-conditioning? How dare you judge him without knowing:

Did he have a father?
Did his father beat his mother?
Did his father beat him in order to teach him?
How can you assume that your white-bread suburban cracker upbringing instill in Ray Race the same old-fashioned Leave it to Beaver nonsense that we're trying to eradicate?

;) ;) :D

Clearly you have not thought this all the way through because he gets his social justice too as a BLACK man raised in oppression and being shot at by the white police after being profiled...
