Rawr!

Ticket prices often include fees for the ticketing services, and they're not very nice. When dealing with TicketBastard, bring a condom and some KY Jelly, you're going to be fucked hard.

Even the fucking buses are expensive now.

It's depressing to think I had to set aside money for months to be able to afford three Broadway tickets...

I don't even want to think about all that money.

It really sucks. Southwest Airlines internet ticket prices are so fucking low, and then you add it all up and it's not much better than buying a Fun Fare. Bus tickets are cheaper but it takes so fucking long.

It's almost better to rent a car and drive yourself, road trips are always fun, right? You, me, Weepingguitar and a handful of CDs, it'll be a blast!

Can I do that if I'm under 25?

It typically costs more if you're under 25, but fear not, I'm 38, I'll rent the car and ya'll pay for food or something like that.

Oh I live for roadtrips. Every year two of my friends from college and I go on a "Cylinder of Fate" trip. Basically we toss all 4 directions (north, south, east, west) and numbers of miles ranging from 20 - 60 into a makeup pencil cylinder and pull out two pieces of paper. And then we just go! This year we ended up all over Ohio and Pennsylvania, lol. We went everywhere from the Geneva boardwalk to the Jimmy Stewart museum and all for barely 100 dollars a piece.

Sounds good to me! What kinda car are we going to have? Convertible sport coupe? Smart mid sized sedan? Minivan? Harley Davidson?

Well if ya keep it simple with the sedan, we're a little less noticable. No one will know how much fun we're having ^_^ Plus you can heavily abuse the speedlimit and the cops won't pay as much attention to you.

Next step: Acquire a platinum credit card.

Well if it weren't for my warped but very present sense of morality, I'd swipe one in an instant ^_^

Yes, a big long stretchy model with 6 doors, a wet bar, TV, satellite etc...

And a big burly driver named Spartacus, thuse freeing us up to sit back and enjoy the ride.

Many car rental outfits won't rent to anyone under 25 and if they do the rate is insane. (Think $80 a day for a little shitbox range.)

Oddly enough, you can rent a 30' Uhaul box truck at 18 years old. Apparently an 18 year old is to dangerous to be trusted to drive just a 2500 pound Ford Focus but can be trusted to drive a 7000 pound box truck large enough to CARRY the Focus. Go figure.

To bad most of UHaul's trucks are rolling junk heaps with one tire already in the boneyard. That and the $0.60 a mile they charge.

So is the better deal the UHaul, the rental car, or the bus?

U Haul is a rip any way you cut it. At your age, bus is probablly the cheapest and easiest.

Also, you need a valid credit card to rent a car.

Any chance Amtrak goes where you are going? They are usually cheaper than flying but not to much more than the bus.
