[Chicklet]

a good friend gave me a check for $1000 yesterday, to get out of the hole and on my feet for the next three months that I'm attending a class on building my work related skills instead of entering straight into an entry level job. my unemployment checks are paying the bills, but food and anything outside of the house has brought me down to nearly nothing in the bank.

he handed me this check, told me it's not a loan, it's a gift, and if i can pay it back easily at some point fine, but not to worry about it. i didn't ask for it, didn't hint at it, have teased everyone about my broken status very lightly and in good spirit.

i had no idea i had such a generous friend in him. i almost cried. it was embarrassing.

Congratulations on a good friend. I had something similar happen some years ago when I really needed it, and I've never forgotten -- I try harder to be like that now but don't usually make the grade.

Ohh Chicklet that is way cool. What a wonderful friend to do this for you. Speaks volumes for him. I had a dear friend many years ago do something similar on a smaller scale with no intent to benefit outside of knowing that I was okay. Still means the World to me . True philanthropy is a marvel to me always no matter whom is the recipient. Happy to hear you won't have to struggle so hard needlessly and good luck with the higher entry position.
