I'm wondering how the ratings work. What's the difference between editor and writer ratings? I can rate an individual thread, but how does an editor get rated?

And what about the top stories list? I think I gave a five to a new story (only a couple threads long), and it instantly appeared on the top stories list.

Also: is there no function for deleting an existing thread?

Oh, and why should there be a four-child limit for a parent thread? What's the worry?

The only way to delete an existing thread is to ask the moderators to do it by usiung Report Thread link at the bottom.

Probably limiting the size of the database.

The ratings don't really work. I have not been able to make any sense of why some ratings count and some don't. The program is broken and there has been no effort on the owner's part to fix it. We are just lucky we can approve stories now, so I am not going to complain. Your votes seem to count...It makes me wonder if only the votes of people that joined after a certain date count. In any event it is broken and no one pays much attention to it.

The editor rating is for threads you edit, but did not write. The writer rating is for threads that you actually wrote.

If you look at your story list it shows the accurate rating for your stories, but these are not reflected in the area that shows ratings.

I have always thought it is a bad idea to let people delete their threads as there may be threads after that would be affected. Would they be deleted also? I don't know but letting you delete someone else's work is a bad idea. The moderators have some ability to delete threads but we have to be careful with it.

There was a way around this. I have never tried it but I think what you do is when you add the fourth thread hit back and then change it and add it again. It is hard to conceive of needing more than four possible story lines, but there may be come specialized cases.

Yes, it is possible to add more than 4 threads, but not within the normal operation of the software.

I've occasionally needed extra threads, especially for "Extra Options" or "Cast of Characters" threads.
