I've had nearly 6000 people read my first ever attempt, but only 40 people have rated, even though I asked at the end of the story for feedback of any form. I will say that the 5 people who left comments and the 4 that e-mailed me were rather complimentary, and I thank those people, both identified and anonymous. I'm now going to start working on part two of the Driver Wilde project. If you've not read/rated yet, read this story here.

That's actually about the normal response for that many reads. I have found that asking for feedback seems to produce no particular result . As for the ones that have commented or emailed you. Bes sure to respond to those who gave an address. It doesn't have to be anything more than "Thank You". As both a reader and writer though, nothing turns me off faster than dropping someone a compliment and never hearing even a "Drop Dead".

Hi, Driver, and welcome to Lit. For a contest entry, that is about a normal amount of voting. That is .6%, which is better than most of my stories do, as far as voting goes. After the story is no longer in the "NEW" list, that percentage will probably decrease.

That is 6,000 views, not 6,000 reads. There is no way of knowing how many persons actually read the whole story.
