rash in pubic area

my boyfriend and i had sex for the first time about a week ago and the next day his inner thigh itched. it has progressively gotten worse and now has a rash in his pubic hair and his inner thighs. It it very red and the skin looks as if its dry and flaking off. im scared now. anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?

It might just be a rash but consider having him go in for a checkup if you're still worried.

I suggest you both go as if your guy does have an STD you'll probably both need treatment or you'll just re-infect each other. They will have seen/heard it all before and the sooner you get him to a GP, the faster you'll clear this up. If he has herpes, you are really at risk as this lies dormant and is never really cured. Get yourselves both checked for STDs and then start fresh.

If you have been seeing him for sometime and he does prove to have an STD, you will have to start asking yourself where he got it from.

Definately get tested, always want to be safe. But don't worry too much unless you do get bad news in the results. I once had an issue where the spermacidal lube on condoms was making me itch rather bad. Switched brands and no issues. Get tested so you know you are both ok, but don't totally freak out unless it comes back positive.

aww this is not a good start isn't it? hope it won't spoil things for you both.

I'm thinking- did you use lubricants? alergy is quite common esp with tingly/cool/hot etc.
I agree this could be due to spermacide or condom. I react to it in a exact way.
But still make sure to get him and yourlsef checked by doctor. good luck.

Doubtful to be herpes as this is usually painful.

Most STD's take more than just 24 hours to display a rash.

Allergy is a common cause as is a non std infection such as common fungal infection caused by tinea commonly called "jock itch" or a basic staph infection. It needs to be looked at by a physician or a mid-level practitioner such as a PA or NP.

Allergies to common things like your laundry detergent when combined with his sweat and yours.... Contact dermatitis - common in new lovers - especially if you or he shaves down there
STD are a far pitch - but if you are at all uncertain get checked - don't be stupid that way -
a dry flakey rash also sounds like spermicide or lubricant allergy which can come up out of no where and freak everyones shit out.....

Don't panic - hope you got to a Doc or a PA or a NP to at least calm the rash = and determine its causes

Latex and Spermicide are the most common culprits

sounds very basic

I'm sure it's very disconcerting but really does not sound serious. Definitely get a check up from the doctor but it sounds like allergic reaction of some sort. Even could be aggravated by nerves (first time?) many dermatology conditions are affected by emotions and hormones. My first experience with a yeast infection prior to losing my virginity(so it wasn't intercourse related at all) had my whole bottom and thighs messed up with swelling, irritation, skin manifestations etc. Get checked so you can know where to look and how to prevent future discomfort of this nature and to be sure not a medical problem.
