Piss and vinegar, I've been missing out on all the fun.
Anyhow I'm sorry people feel they have to be derrogatory in response to constructive critisism, but we all go through it. If I quit the first time someone countered my "you can put yourself at an advantage by taking a somewhat different standpoint" with "you're nothing but an attention-seeking squid." Oh well; everyone has their pet jellyfish. Granted most of them look for adoption by someone who's trying to mind his own business, but I suppose I stuck my neck out into it, didn't I? But still, being helpful has its own rewards, as I'm sure being snippy and brash does as well. Just as long as you're comfortable with the choices you make.
