I've just got back from a wonderful holiday with o in the lake district we were camping and it was so romantic (not that you'd think camping was romantic but it really turned out to be that way). ANyway it was great except from the MILLIONS of wasps and other stinging insects that were bothering us at every turn, when we were cooking, when we were walking, chatting kissing and even getting jiggy. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I hate those things, I'm so scared of them even though they're tiny. I'm scared of them for two reasons a)I have a phobia- full blown- which is an irrational yet all consuming fear for my own personal safety even though i'm not allergic to them or anything, and b) I am terrified for O because he IS allergic and could die if stung in the wrong place.

SO theres me when one flies along and i'm flapping and swearing and running round in circles and i always inadvertantly flap it over to o who just cooly swats it away making me look totally ridiculous which i probably am but god damn it i just hate those little bastards.

it doesn't help the vibe in a scene when he's all in handcuffs and i'm zoning out worrying if the buzzing in the tent is a wasp. I mean it kinda shatters the whole dominance atmosphere when i'm cowering in a corner scared of some tiny flying insect.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

does anybody else hate them? HOw do i get over my phobia? any ideas?

I don't know, I'm paranoid about them too.

I just see this as further evidence that civlized humans were never meant to be more than 2 blocks from a latte.

Be glad you don't have fire ants. I've never seen any creatures as aggressive as them.

thats why they make yard guard insect spray people. lol in terrified of most bugs and i live smack in the middle of the woods. i know how to keep them away from me. ;)

Wasps and bees I can just about cope with, its the thunder flies that are driving me crazy in the hot weather.
They get in my fire alarm and set it off, I keep thinking dinner is ready.

Thats usually how the kids know its dinner when I am cooking lol

As for getting over the phobia I am sure Paul McKenna does a tape for it, he does one for everything else :)
