The man is a pig. A sickening, revolting pig.

You visit the troops, you show respect and gratitude. You praise and genuflect. You thank them humbly, you convey confidence and hope. You make it about THEM and THEIR sacrifice.

But just like he did before the Gold Star Wall at the CIA and to the Boy Scouts, he made it about himself. He threw a pity party for himself, ranted about his political problems, and bitched and complained about the border (insinuating that it was much more important than what they were doing). He also lied to them about imaginary pay raises. Last but not least, he insulted them by saying "We're not going to be suckers anymore now that I'm in charge." In effect, calling them fools. He also gave the military a kick in the stomach by saying the US should be "monetarily compensated" by other countries.

Afterwards he complained about all the security HE had to go through.

He is disgusting.

I was hoping that he would say to the troops what he has said before. He said that always felt like he was in the military since he went to military school.

I wonder if the troops got wind of the breaking news about his bone spurs deferment.

The troops caught Lumpy Bone spurs breaking wind? Is that what you said?

:D

There was not a single grown-up in the room, again.

No one told him "No, you cannot do this."

"Stop."

Everyone and everything is a prop, for "The Trump Show."

FFS, Trump insulted and offended the Queen of England, in order to focus attention onto himself.

Who advised Trump to skip town, and convinced Trump to go where he feared to go ?

Their Conmander In Chief told the troops that they got a 10% pay increase. All the troops are getting is a 2.6% increase.

WHO IS STEALING THE OTHER 7.4%?

He also said it was their first pay raise in ten years. They've gotten pay raises every year for the last thirty years.

He lies to make the board Trumpettes proud.

Seriously, this needs to be investigated. If your boss says you're getting a 10% raise and all you see on your check is a 2.6% increase, you take that shit straight to the CFO, with lawyer in hand.

What was curious and unusual, is about who was invited to be in the press pool that covered the secret Christmas visits to Iraq and Germany.

Trustworthy, vetted, educated, professional journalists from the Leftist, Democratic side of the field. Sworn to keep secrecy.

Trump thanked them for not leaking.

He did kick the press pool out, after 15 minutes of the meet with troops. The meet only lasted for 30 minutes.

oh fuck
Is it possible for me, to have worded this in a more awkward way ?

I need an editor, for my posts.

"But, the press did see Trump continue to speak through glass walls and windows. They could see the troops cheering."

edit- No, Trump was not speaking through glass walls, or windows. The members of the press pool were locked out, and were limited to watching Trump.

Under DoD Directive 1344.10 “active duty personnel may not engage in partisan political activities.” Trump thrust this illegality upon the service people by messing with his campaign paraphernalia. Reporters should ask if he brought it

7:04 PM - Dec 26, 2018

gsgs comment- The language and talking points, dutifully reported by news outlets, so familiar.

A few journalists went straight for the gist- They identified it as a Trump rally.

Except for that particular and distinct point- the other rallies were populated by civilians. This rally was on a military base, and in front of troops serving America, overseas, in someone else's sovereign territory.

Angered at Trump's Visit, Some Iraqi Lawmakers Want U.S. Troops Out

Very odd pic from Trump's visit.

Is he afraid of His Own Troops ?

Did Anwar Sadat and Ngo Dinh Diem have a reason to be afraid of their own troops? Did Indira Gandhi have a reason to be afraid of her own bodyguards? More to the building circumstance, did Yitzhak Rabin have a reason to be afraid of one of his own disillusioned zealot supporters? ;)

What reason would anyone one, including those in military, have to off a bonespurs kind of guy grasping to be a dictator in a republic?

He brought Malaria along to push out in front if there was any trouble

Yes, I was struck by one excuse he gave for being reluctant to go--Melania's safety. He's the president, she isn't. Presidents haven't routinely taken their wives on these war zone trips. There was no requirement/need for her to go. He should be able to do his job without her.

The Stable Genius needs Melania to go with him to these captive-audience military political rallies, because she does not have "bone spurs" and is more prepared for military duty.

However, I recently heard that the bone spur thing was just a scam to beat the draft. What a surprise. He does need the steel side-braces on a set of spurs to simulate an erection with his tiny weenie, so maybe that is what he meant by "bone spurs".

He pulled this stunt because it was his way of getting back at Mattis--via the troops. He saw all the coverage of Mattis "resigning in protest," so he decided to use the troops as a captive audience to shout at them all the things he was afraid to say to Mattis's face. It was a way to one-up him: The military is MINE. I'M the Commander in Chief, not you. I don't have to listen to you. But of course he's too chicken to confront the Generals directly, so he goes and berates, insults, and abuses the troops instead.

The dangerous thing about Trump is how he likes to attack the weak and vulnerable to get back at people who are more powerful.

David Cay Johnston tells a story of how he stopped health insurance payments for his five year old nephew with cancer because he didn't like how his parents were challenging his father's will.

He can't get his wall, so he'll kidnap kids and put them in cages.

He was mad at Michelle Obama for saying she would never forgive him for birtherism, so a few weeks later her rescinded all her healthy eating rules for kids. A way of hurting her--through kids, which he knows she cares about.

He knows Mattis loves the troops, so he goes over there and feeds them a bunch of insulting bullshit and lies. If he can think of more ways to hurt them he will.

So when he goes down, he is going to do a lot of damage to a lot of people.

Revenge—it’s a big part of Trump’s life

He noted there were a couple of lessons not taught in business school that successful people must know. At the top of the list was this piece of advice: “Get even with people. If they screw you, screw them back 10 times as hard. I really believe it.”

Trump summed up this lifelong philosophy in a 2013 tweet: “‘Always get even. When you are in business, you need to get even with people who screw you.’ – Think Big.” The following year he tweeted this quote: “‘Revenge is sweet and not fattening.’ – Alfred Hitchcock.”

His favorite form of revenge is escalation—upping the ante, screwing ’em more than they screwed you.
