Rania, swords sorcery ans shadow (d20 OOC)

well if jen and bronda jump in, that makes 5, plus one of my own (barbarian/rouge, bit of an all rounder build) and NPC's, that should be good.

So when everyone has their profiles up i'll start the thread, maybe we could have this rolling in 4-5 days max

Sounds good! Is the character creation same as before? Namely, is it okay for me to just copy/paste Glindiel's stats from the old thread?

this one?

Glindiel was born in a small elven village in the north. She was the daughter of the chief, and the day she was born, it was widely thought that one day she would inherit the power and become her father’s successor. Glindiel was always a little short, even for an elf, but she was one of the most beautiful young maidens in the village.

It turned out, however, that she was always the odd one among the elves. A little too short, a little too petite, a little too playful, a little too curious for her own good. Glindiel took great pleasure in learning about things. Old magic, old items, but most of all, people. She was always thoroughly fascinated by all kinds of people, and the human (or elven) mind never ceased to amaze her. So she spent a lot of her young age socializing with practically everyone who agreed to chat with her. It was easy enough to like Glindiel, with her apparently never-ending cheerfulness and ever-happy attitude, so she got to know a whole lot of people.

The problem about her was, in the eyes of her fellow elves, that although she was obviously intelligent, she seemed to have no interest in things elves deemed important, especially for one who would one day become queen – history, politics, workings of the families. Glindiel cared little of any of those things. Most other elves never quite understood her interest in other races – Glindiel was always eager to chat with whomever humans, dwarves or any members of other races happened to wander in their village. The only interest of hers that they could approve of was her singing. Glindiel spent countless days, months, even years training her singing voice and writing songs. Her singing was appraised by many elves, even those who didn’t approve of many other interests of hers.

When Glindiel turned a hundred years old, she decided that she had spent enough of her life in their small village. She wanted to learn so much about the world and their village simply couldn’t provide her with enough information to satisfy her endless thirst of information. So, when she reached the end of the first decade of her life, she decided she wanted to see the world.

Of course, this caused a huge uproar among her kind. Not only was she the daughter of the chief and his only heir, but at a hundred years old, she was also still considered underage. It wasn’t uncommon for young elves to leave the village, but never younger than a hundred and ten. Glindiel ignored the complaints of her parents or other villagers, however, packed her bag and left off to see the vast world.

For eleven years she wandered, north and south, east and west. She wanted to see everything there was to see and enjoyed every single moment of her solitary, wandering life. She was still very young for an elf and enjoyed the wonders of the world, her appetite for more knowledge seemingly endless. Every now and then, she settled in a town somewhere and collected enough gold to live by with her singing. Every new and wondrous thing Glindiel saw, she wrote in her songs, which she carried as her most prized possessions.

At a hundred and eleven years old, Glindiel arrived at Rainia. She was excited as a child. A whole continent, forgotten and found again! Filled with adventurous, vastly interesting people of all races! It was like paradise to her! So she found herself a room for rent at a local inn, made herself at home and spent a week in the city of Irthos. Sooner or later, she was sure, her curiosity would take her deeper in the continent, but for now, she was more than content to examine the people, earn a little money with her beautiful songs and enjoy her young life to the fullest.

I was hoping to have my lizardfolk turning out to be a descendant of a dragon, thought it'd make a good plot in the future, but not sure how to approach it yet in his sheet, any suggestions or is the idea not good to bring up at the moment?

well the most obvious way is to play the dragon deciple presteige class, but you need spell caster ranks, so i dont know how to approach it mechanicaly, but there will be a few dragons in the storyline, so it shouldnt be that hard to RP it if it happens

Hmmmmm how about I do not take a dragon disciple class but another dragon related class? Perhaps a level in Dragon would work?

you cant just take a level in dragon, thats not how it works, but ill look in to it, dont worry

Yeah I know, but I have heard about Racial Classes, as lizardfolk has to take a level in humandoid perhaps a level in dragon would work out? But that's just thoughts, thought it would be simpelr if there was a class for those who wish t obe part dragon that didn't require levels in spell casting.

well i cant think of a class that does that offhand, but like i said, i'll look in to it

ok, ive been looking about a little, and im not really finding much to help you drak, there are a few ways, but most wither do so little that its not worth the trouble, or make changes that are too much

the only thing ive found that would work is a custom bloodline, and id have to make it from scratch

since there was a kitty mentioned, how about a catfolk, a werecat, weretiger, werepanther, or maybe even a wemic or a Rakasha(shapeshifting planar tiger humanoids)?

mmm, cat people, delicious

drak, what colour dragon did you want to be descended from?

Well since Kratash is a fighter he'd be one of the more physically strong dragons, perhaps red, brass, copper, gold, not sure which to pick, but no Green Dragon, that's too obvious, doesn't give excitement to the mysterious heritage if he's the same color as his ancestor.

Black dragon would make the most sense. They live in swamps the same as lizard folk. It may not seem quite so exotic because it is a usual pairing, but it fits better without being contrived.

I like it, black dragons are often used in evil themes so using one for a more neutral/good theme would make it more unique and more fun. Black Dragon it is!

could have him meeting his ancestor on the island and get into argument or a fight with him/her about his heritage or blood or some other kind of family argument, hahaha would be amusing to see a lizardfolk argue with a black dragon or black dragoness.

well i doubt it would be a direct ancestor, and the marshlands arnt near the begining of the adventure, so the effects of your bloodline would be noticeable before then

Here's a description of my character Lilianne. Thanks again to Feral for helping me with the stats.

I'm happy to make any changes anyone would like.

Name: Lilianne

Lilianne is from a rural area of a northern land. She grew up in a large family. They are part of a gypsy-like ethnic group in that country. Lilianne's family survives mainly by trading horses, tinkering, thieving and occasionally begging during hard times. They had started to move up in the world however. Lilianne and a few of the others had started venturing into dungeons and crypts to find greater riches. Despite being quite fearful, Lilianne turned out to be the best of them at this new enterprise. Unfortunately, there weren't many of those sorts of places in that poor region and the king's guard was stepping up its efforts to clamp down on these gypsy folk.

When Lilianne's father heard about the exotic new land, supposedly full of treasures, his face lit up and Lilianne's fate was sealed. The family gathered together enough coins to pay her fare and she reluctantly set out on her adventure.
