Not all men prefer long hair on women, but I agree that statistically, most probably do. I'd guess it is because it makes them look more uniquely feminine. Yes, men can grow long hair, but it never looks as smooth and pretty as it does on a woman. Short hair on a woman looks pretty much the same as short hair on a man with a similar cut.
