The basic premise is that it is spring.

We try to do it in the fall, but sometimes the snow gets ahead of us. I don't presume you rake snow in the US Midwest. Besides, the OP already posited that, for some reason, 'A' hadn't raked the leaves.

Granddaughter shows up and she has grandpa come outside with her: she says that she’s still not sure how she should feel about what happened. She was initially disgusted but Grandpa never called her begging not to tell. He’s never tried to prey on her or her other relatives and she can tell he’s broken up about what he did.

What she wants to do is know why. She loves him and if there’s something wrong with him she wants to help.

So what happens is that they have a day outside where grandpa and her strip down and recreate the experience but with them both able to see each other. When grandpa touches himself, he has to explain what he’s feeling and granddaughter pushes him back in his lawn chair and has sex with him consensually to let him know he’s forgiven and as thanks for letting her explore the why of what he did.
