Well over the past 48 hours we have received a bit of rain here. (1.96 inches yesterday and 2.4 inches today so far.) I'm not complaining though as I see parts of Miami received over 12 inches in the same time frame and Cape Cod where I come from is looking at a severe winter storm over the weekend.
Because it has been raining I didn't do any work on my bike, or any outside work at all. Instead I decided to tackle a job I wasn't looking forward to but I knew needed to be done. Replacing my old Fire Alarms.
I ran down to the local Hardware Store and picked up the new ones I wanted. A Carbon Monoxide Alarm and several different smoke alarms.
Back at my place I disconnected the old alarms as well as their wiring and removed the entire set up. Ancient Smoke Alarms that were hardwired together and run through the Circuit Panel. (No battery backup in them.)
One Smoke Alarm next to the main door. This one has an extremely bright light which marks the door. One Smoke Alarm in the Living Room, another in the back room and one in the bedroom. (The one in the bedroom also has the light set up and is pointed at my pop out window.)
The CO Detector is hung in the hallway. (Away from the kitchen.)
It wasn't a lot of work compared to some of the other jobs I've done but it was worth it and I'll sleep better tonight.
