Rainbows Make You Gay

Have to admit that his garment is pretty Gay

Is it the bells or the crest on the hat?

Maybe the curled up pointy shoes? :D

You guys obviously don't get it!

SHE'S the one who's turning gay... Most likely after having been around "Fools" like the one in the picture and you two!

So all I gotta say is: Welcome Sistha!

We should give an award to Safe_bet for ruining the most innocent and cheerful thread on the page. It was well done, and astonishingly fast. I think she broke some kind of record.

oooh hey, I have an idea-- ignore her!

Don't let yet another thread be about her. Post something to the topic, instead.

Well, Gay didn't mean what it does now, thanks to some idiot perverting the word for "Full of, disposed to, or indicating joy and mirth; light-hearted, carefree".

You got to admit, England had some strange adverts in them days.

I could Photoshop an ad like that in 20 minutes or less.

I don't believe any photo I see on the Net anymore.

I think it's that ball he's swinging on that rope. Who knows where that ball has been?

Our fags fucked up when they confiscated GAY instead of HAPPINESS. They coulda argued that the Declaration of Independence guaranteed them THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS.

For some reason 'Gayer Garments' made me giggle. It's 'Sally sells seashells by the sea shore' kind of humor. I know, I'm weird

"I've robbed the rainbow to make you gay."

Next time I'm hammered at the pool league, I'm going to use that as a pick up line.

I love the rainbow, and I love the colors in it. I'm not gay, and I'm not really happy these days, either.

The rainbow is mentioned in the Bible as God's promise that he would never flood the earth again. Not quite sure how the gays accepted it as their symbol--maybe not the rainbow itself, but the colors of it. I know lots of them are very colorful people, and that's okay with me. Life is gloomy. I give anybody credit who can put some color into it. Why not?

And, whenever or wherever I am, I stop to look at a rainbow in the sky. Awesome!

Ben is right about the photoshopping. Looks it to me, too. The jester is a little much, but it is the name of the company. The dress has hours of knitting in it. Don't think I could sit still long enough to cast on the hem line no matter what color the yard was.

It seems likely to be genuine. I remember advertisements like that in my mother's magazines of the 1940s and 50s. A Jester Wool company did exist in the 1930s.

I suggested 40's but you're undoubtedly right. Hair style suggests mid-to-late 30's. Like Judy Garland's hair style in the Wizard of Oz :cattail:

"You are getting sleepy ... sleepy ... you can't keep your eyes open ... when I jingle my bells you will awaken and become Gay ..." :D

The style of drawing is also of that round WW2.
See her shoes? Court Shoes ?
I wonder who drew it ?
