I use these labels as basic descriptors but here you can be whatever and whoever you wish to be. Nobody is to be stifled or judged here, beyond Literotica's rules on forum posts.

Lofty ideals

Disclaimer: I've never taken it upon myself to eulogise about GLBT inclusion in a hetero-normative community before. I will probably, make that almost certainly, fuck up when it comes to PC terminology and expressing what I want to say without making sweeping generalisations in the process. I therefore apologise wholeheartedly in advance for what I am about to attempt to articulate. If you think the language I use here can be improved upon, by all means pm and let me know.

There will be people wondering why I'm setting up a GLBT friendly lounge when we have so few GLBT oriented SRPers and lounge lizards. Well that, basically, is my reason. Something must be putting off GLBT roleplayers and dissuading them from jumping into the lounge and getting to know us all.

The lounge is 99% hetero-normative (IMO anyway) with Vail's Vortex a notable exception. Bi and lesbian girls are welcomed, so long as they portray 'hot' (to str8 men) women and have no issue with being fantasy fodder for straight guys. But not all bi and lesbian women identify as feminine (for want of a better descriptor) and certainly, not all bi and lesbian women want their fantasies to be appropriated by voyeuristic hetero men. There must be bi and lesbian women out there who have no desire to interact with straight men at all in a place like this. I may be unduly maligning straight men here but tough shit, you guys have the rest of the lounge to play in and jerk off to.

I don't see bi, gay or TV/TS guys around here either, which is also a shame. It may simply be that they have no interest in writing SRPs but I'm inclined to think that the hetero-normative community here makes them think twice about expressing themselves. For that to happen in a place like this, a forum that was set up specifically so adults of all orientations could freely express their sexual desires... well it saddens me.

I am not saying that heterosexual SRPers are to blame for this or that there has been any homophobia towards other SRPers. I just think that if there's a thread like this one, where you check your hetero-normative outlook at the door, those with alternative orientations will feel that they have somewhere here to chat and post, to belong.

So that is my primary goal with this thread, to offer somewhere where people of alternative orientations can post. I'm saying this because while I don't want to exclude anybody, I also don't want this thread to be appropriated by heterosexual guys and girls just because it's new or may be a bit quiet. There are plenty of other threads for you guys to chat, flirt and play in. By all means chat with GLBT people who are here, but please don't derail the thread into another hetero-normative chat zone.

I hope I have expressed myself clearly here. It's not my intention to offend anybody. The sign on the door says 'all are welcome' and I do mean that. I feel it's necessary to have a few caveats though, because this will hopefully become a haven for GLBT roleplayers.
