Rain and Heat

The last week or so we've had mostly rain with only scattered days without storms. My lawn is due for mowing and I should have done it two days ago when we had a window of dry, but I put it off until today when it was also forecast to be sunny, before another round of T-storms are due tonight and the weekend.

But today in this part of the country we're under a heat advisory, and with a heart that they tell me only pumps about 40% of what it should, I think I'll put it off again. At least the next door neighbors mow less often than I do.

I gotta get a service. I hate getting decrepit. I can live with all the joints that I injured in my wild days acting up now, but the ticker going bad sucks. At least my teeth are still great.

Yeah let that shit stay put for now and hire yourself some neighborhood kid looking to make some money. The heat is nothing to play with if you have heart issues.

Guy next door....it drives me crazy. He's in his late fifties, bit overweight and had a heart attack a couple years back.

He's out there shoveling in the winter looking like he's ready to fall over and same in the summer with the lawn.

Worst part about it? he has two sons 16/19 that live at home and watch him do it. I don't know what's worse that they don't know they should do it or that he doesn't make them.

Lazy entitled little rats.

Me and a couple of other guys on the street help him out when we can, but he's stubborn and goes out there before anyone else is around.

Our lot is mostly wooded and covered with azaleas and such. What additional area I haven't covered in brick and stone terraces, I'm successfully training to go to moss. This has been a wet summer, so I've mowed three time since early April. Usually that's as many times as I do a twenty-minute mow all year. Strangely enough, though we've had a wet week as well, it doesn't need to be mowed again yet. Maybe early August and then again not until October, for the last time this year.

we have woods on one side, but we have a huge front yard and the other side is all grass.

I mowed the first two summers we were there then last year said fuck it and pay a kid down the street $30 to do it every couple of weeks.

I hate yard work anyway. I'd rather shovel snow than mow or weed whack or trim hedges

Maybe its because I hate the heat in general
