I was listening to an NPR story about black women voters and their allegiance to the Democratic Party. They talked to one lady and she said she was supporting Kamala Harris because they were members of the same Black Women's Sorority, so, "She's my sister." One lady said she could not support Joe Biden because he was 76 years old and at that age, you should just go home and rest. Ageism. She went on to say that she was 60, and it was time for HER to go home and rest. Yikes! And then one lady said she could not vote for ANY white, male candidate. That was her primary consideration in evaluating a candidate. His ideas made no difference. She prejudged her candidate based on sex (sexism) and skin color(racism). I know plenty of white people do that as well and it's equally abhorrent. It was just kind of shocking for the black woman to be so open about her racism without much concern about condemnation that would surely befall a white person if they did the same thing.

Yes, everyone has his/her prejudices. And, of course, if you've talked to one black woman or one old man, you know what every black woman and every old man thinks. Really deep thinking there, 45. But you think that justifies your prejudices, don't you? (Thought so)

Pre-judgement

I don't think it is true that all people judge matters without any basis. Some do. Likely many do. But there are many people that judge based on merit. It is foolish to judge all people of a certain race based on what some or many in that race do.

I did not see anything in the original post that required an attack. It was a valid point. If a white person said they only voted white they would be under attack for saying it. That is fair and true. The post did not say that all black people vote only black. There are many black people that judge based on merit just as their are people in all races that know better than to prejudge.

When the first impulse to a fair observation is to attack then it seems that the attacker is driven by pre-judgement.

Jesus Christ. No it is not about justifying my prejudices. I'm only prejudiced against the important things. It just made me take pause that this woman was so open in her ignorance. I'm sure that there are white people who say they are not going to vote for, say, Kamala Harris and Corey Booker because of their skin color. I would consider that equally loathsome. I would never vote for them either, but it's because I think their ideas are terrible.

Yeah, well, there are a lot of Bernie supporters who didn't vote for Hillary because the DNC didn't let an outsider steal their party like the RNC let happen to them. And I'm sure they would be sorry they did that if they weren't shallow thinkers (which they were in thinking that Bernie would be able to pass what he was preaching).

But I don't think of you as a deep thinker either, 45. You believe whatever serves your racist, rightist agenda.
