The mood in my city of Boston is not cheerful, peaceful, or serene.
We are exhausted by the amount of snow that we have to deal with,
and we are sick at heart because the senseless murder of unarmed
citizens is unending.

The Ferguson police department is getting attention from the DOJ. Maybe, all of the police departments need to be, looked at.


Department of Justice has concluded that the Ferguson Police Department engaged in racially biased practices, including disproportionately arresting African-Americans during routine traffic stops. The findings are the result of an investigation launched back in September, which found that systematic biased behavior, including "racist jokes about blacks" on police email accounts, have resulted in fractured race relations in the Missouri community and a deep mistrust of police officials. From the Times:

In compiling the report, federal investigators conducted hundreds of interviews, reviewed 35,000 pages of police records and analyzed race data compiled for every police stop. They concluded that, over the past two years, African-Americans made up about two-thirds of the city’s population but accounted for 85 percent of traffic stops, 90 percent of citations, 93 percent of arrests and 88 percent of cases in which the police used force.

66% of the people there are black and its "racist" that most police activity involved the race that makes up (by 2 to 1) the majority of the population.

If you looked at other types of statistics I am sure you would also see blacks make up "most" of anything seeing there's twice as many of them as there are any other group of people.

I'm not saying things don't need to be changed, but you're reaching.

And also my wife's entire family still resides in Boston and they don't seem to share all this "unrest"

How about sports teams? Did DOJ assess race in Sports teams, if all are equal maybe there oughta be a few whites and chinks and wetbacks in the NBA.

Their arrest rate, their incarceration rate and their criminality rate. You can consult any reliable source, such as FBI statistics to verify that.

In a two hour long meeting at the St. Louis headquarters of the FBI, officials from the U.S. Department of Justice informed the parents of Michael Brown that there will be no federal criminal charges against former-Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson.

That is the claim.

Not that it matters since President Blackenstien sent out his minion and it wasn't a blonde bringing in the information but the data out of Ferguson was. . .nothing that would shock a black person but still. Like 90% more pull overs, it's fairly clear that cops us them as a fund raising source since the Recession started with crime remaining roughly the same but tickets and fines more than doubling. That blacks get frisked more and were found to be statistically less likely to have contraband. It was nuts.

I was arrested a year ago. (No details but let's just say I got it down to a violation of disorderly conduct, not a crime.) I was raised as a middle class army best. And now am upper income. When the cops are driving me all around the fucking city, they delighted in driving really fast and slamming on the brakes on the hopes of getting me to smash my head against the plexi glass.(I was cuffed behind my back of course so it was really difficult to not suffer a real injury.) So in your perfect world blacks should have only been ticketed, arrested, convicted and harassed, in numbers commensurate with their percentage of the population, right? What seems to be lost, is the fact that blacks commit crimes in numbers many times their percentage of the population.

I worked closely with cops for 20 plus years, and what I observed is: blacks tend to be on the street till midnite and later, especially kids. Being out on the street invites scrutiny and trouble. I own a book a liberal perfesser published. He interviewed blacks in the DC area prisons, and what they report is how they use arrests/incarceration for rest & recreation & refuge from the street. When Ma or baby mama tosses your ass outta the house, go to jail for 3 hots and a cot. The whole tempest is bull shit to scam stupid liberals. LAWDY! DONT THROW ME IN THE BRIER PATCH!

At a press conference this morning, attorneys for the family of slain teenager Michael Brown announced their intention to file a civil suit for wrongful death.

Attorney Daryl Parks announced that former Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson will definitely be named in the suit as the "perpetrator," as will the city of Ferguson itself.

"They do not accept the self-defense theory," said Parks. "The standard we have is totally different. Criminal standard is criminal standard. A civil standard is a different standard."

Let us all take note while on the subject that this thread starter and the rest of the leftists on Lit maintained a narrative that Darren Wilson had illegally executed a black youth, shot him in the back while he had his hands raised, committed racist murder, etc. Lost in the report of racism in city of Furguson is the complete exoneration of Wilson by the Attorney General Eric Holder, finding no such evidence of wrong doing by Wilson, despite the lies to the contrary by witnesses, family members, racial provocateurs, and the trained seals that post here daily in support of any left wing narrative. The fact is Wilson acted lawfully, as I and many others predicted early on, and as the Grand Jury found.

I assume you have cites since a lot of us assumed that the correct answer was somewhere between the two stories. I think Holder let the guy walk because it was politically toxic for him to do anything else but still. Have you noticed cops always act lawfully when they kill people, especially minorities. Not once has even been an oops and you don't think thats a sign of people looking out for their own? REALLY?
