Former Rolling Stones reporter Matt Taibbi strips this dishonest, lying, conspiracy-mongering fraud down to her bones in his latest piece about the Steel Dossier. You can get a good idea from the teaser, but the whole article is devastating to the purveyor of falsehoods:

Rachel Maddow's Shocking New Low

Yesterday, Special Counsel John Durham indicted Brookings Institute analyst Igor Danchenko, better known as the primary source for Christopher Steele, the ex-spy who compiled the now-infamous “Steele Dossier” on behalf of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign in 2016. The case has implications for higher-ranking figures, but the indictment is most immediately devastating to the reputation of the many famous news personalities who hyped the Steele story. They almost all look terrible today, but the response by MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow was a thing beyond. Whatever the category below “disgraced journalist” is, she entered it with gusto with last night’s performance.

Part of the Durham investigation is who and how the conspiracy was perpetrated when it should have been shut down in August of 2016. As John Ratcliffe pointed out, after August 2016, the FBI investigation itself became an criminal act. One wonders if Maddow wasn't being used by the FBI or a willing collaborator in the conspirator. Note that Durham is targeting people who are outside the government as well as in the government. Barack Obama had no problem with his DOJ targeting journalists.

It's worth $5 to read the rest of Taibbi's excellent piece, and the dishonesty and lies go so deep so as to make me wonder if you're not right: That she's in league with elements of the Deep State in the FBI and other intel agencies to try to cover their tracks.

Oh yeah, the guy who couldn’t keep a job at Rolling Stone.

And the Maddow episode is getting lots more hits today. It’s all about the ratings, said a past President.

Now why doesn't it surprise me in the least to see the Left enthusiastic over the dissemination of abject lies?

We know that Washington Post columnist David Ignatius received classified information that he then used to break the Gen, Flynn story in support of the ongoing Russian Collusion conspiracy. We also know he's been said to be a lapdog stooge for the CIA. We also note that 18 U.S. Code Chapter 37, section 798, provides for the prosecution of anyone disclosing classified information and the relevant sections to do not exempt Journalists. So he is out there. Remember Huber, he was supposed to investigate illegal unmaskings and leaks of classified information. It is said that Barr reassigned all of that to Durham. So we'll see what if anything happens.

I think you'd have a hard time prosecuting Ignatius after the Pentagon Papers decision. As much as it hurt national security, I'd rather it be public than let a duplicitous intelligence community keep it hidden.

Lol, so this is where your outrage with journalism is?

Tusks Carlson saying Jan. 6th was a false flag operation with ZERO evidence is just fine, right?

The country spent years being told the President was elected because of Russian collusion, that he was a traitor, that he was an agent of Putin and focused on an investigation 22 months long that proved...nothing.

So fuck you, this is orders of magnitude more serious than a few rowdy protestors. This is the apparatus of the federal law enforcement and intelligence turned against an elected President on behalf of a corrupt, wire-pulling witch.

Rachel Maddow is my go-to political commentator. I have often seen the contrast between her and the commentator who follows her on MSMBC, Lawrence O'Donnell, where she will actually be more reserved and not go as far as O'Donnell does. She is terrific at exposing and pointing to the corruption and criminality of all the Trumpian sleazebags Bud S. worships. :)

What possible, legitimate reason would Manifort have for giving polling data to a Russian operative?

And now we find that it was all a lie planted by the Hillary campaign. All of it. All the shit Maddow so convincingly said was Trump perfidy was, in reality, Clinton lies and collusion.

And what does that say about Larry O'Donnell?

Speaking of lying hacks . . . :D

I can honestly say that the most Maddow I've ever seen is when they run a segment of hers on Newsy or Haystack.

Dud must be a hardcore viewer.

"...in fact it does sort of look like the Trump Organization and that Kremlin-connected Russian bank did have something going on surreptitiously that they tried to keep secret during the election."

Lie. There was nothing going on but a direct-marketing company sending info on Trump hotels and resorts to people at the Alfa Bank, crap you and I get in our email every day.

"But it is also worth noting that this new indictment, just like the last one, spends comparatively little time talking about these alleged false statements and a lot of time talking about people Igor Danchenko came in contact with or talked to who are, horror of horrors, are Democrats..."

Lie. The Taibbi piece notes that a great deal of time was spent talking about exactly that, which Maddow elides over.

"The unmistakable impression is that this indictment is designed to smear Christopher Steele`s intelligence reports as things that were made up and conducted by rascally Democrats, even though none of that has to do with the actual charges against Mr. Danchenko."

Lie. It has everything to do with the charges. Danchenko said he had gotten his information from Russian nationals, not a US PR executive tied to Clinton.

Shall I go on?
