Alex Jones is a fucking idiot. Never heard a single intelligent thing come out of his mouth. Not that I can listen for that long. Machete is going to entertain some, bore others, and be on DVD a month after it comes out. I don't see much more happening. It's dark humor, but the humor of this film is apparent.
 
Seems to me this Jones dude's overreacting to what passes for an 'action' movie nowadays aimed at teens and 20-somethings. Cartoon violence, impossible situations, spectacular stunts, special effects, corporate villains and lousy acting. Since I've already seen Lindsey Lohan's hooters in a promo clip, there's no reason to see the rest of the movie. :D

A movie made because of a fake trailer does not a race war make. If that was the case Fred Williamson movies should have sparked them long time ago.
 
Does Alex Jones also rail against the Right Wing Spin Machine for promoting racism and political division? If he does, at least he's consistent. If he doesn't he's a fucking hypocrite.
 
I wondeer how much this guy is getting paid to advertise the film. :eek:

Well he's absolutely right about the divide and conquer part, but I seriously doubt too many Hispanics will see it as a call to arms - the result of the Plan of San Diego he mentioned, was about 20 White people killed, and roughly 300 Mexicans - didn't work out so well for them.
 
Charles Manson had a scheme to foment a race war, and so did an extreme branch of the Black Muslims in the seventies. All those involved are now dead or in prison.

I've seen the clip and I'm sure the Mexican population of this country legal and otherwise will simply see this as an action film. Violence won't last long if it does happen, and I doubt this movie will make a major difference. Brave Heart might have rallied support for the Scottish Independence party, but nobody was attacking the British government. Michael Collins might have given the IRA a boost in support, but tens of thousands didn't take up arms in the south or the north.

Films can be powerful, but I think we're dealing with a director who wants to make a statement, and the trailer will do little else. I felt no less secure during the May day protests and there were thousands of criminals on the streets.

Watch your back, but I don't this is a sign of violence to come.
