R.I.P., Virgil Riley Runnels Jr (10/12/1945 – 6/11/2015)

How sad is that of all the death announcements for today this is the one that that gets me the most.

Happy trails, Dusty.

I knew because Hurricane Helms tweeted a pic along with a long compliment about him.

Too bad the pic was one from his HOF induction, where he was seen with his two American nightmares.

Whoa! You had me scared for a minute, Pokie. I thought it was:

IMO, the one who is really dead is worse.

I met the other guy at a place near here a few years ago. He had a bunch of pics on the table, & would write anything you wanted, & sign it for same price. (Forget what that price was.)

He signed one for me, & was first guy in a while to not ask me again what name was & still get it right... In pic was him, Andre, & Ted Sr. I still look at it periodically & enjoy it, while also wondering, "I know Andre's been gone a while, but any chance the other guy might come nearby & sign it someday?"

Rest in Peace Dusty. I don't think I ever saw the man wrestle, he was a bit before my time. Not to mention I got into wrestling a bit late. I got in just before the Attitude Era started.

Hooray for Pookie!

I wouldn't have picked you for a wrestling thread.

I wouldn't have picked you for a wrestling thread.

My dad likes to watch it. He took me and my siblings to some matches in Columbia, SC when I was young. He says I saw Dusty wrestle, but I don't really remember him. I don't watch it now though.

Forgot to mention in my last post of this thread I went to the local Mall a few days ago.

Why does that matter? Well, it's owned by the same family/company that owns the local "Expo" Center where I met the still-living Virgil. They also own the local field where the Indians' minor-league club plays. Every season except for the last one has included a wrestling night featuring meet-&-greets with wrestlers & matches after the game. (Mick Foley, Al Snow, Scott Steiner, Hacksaw Duggan, & a few others have been there.)

A relative told me they were having a wrestling night this year, & I found an ad at the local Mall. Not sure if it's a game night, but it's being called, "Wrestling Under The Stars". Tickets start @ $15, & they say you can get autographs & things for "a special price".

The posters this year advertise Mickie James (I don't watch much "Impact", but thought she was really pregnant), Nash, "King" Lawler, Matt Hardy, & some guy named Matt Taven.

I'm off-&-on about whether that group's worth it.
