I was given a huge toad by a friend of the boyfriend's a few months ago. I named him Plato, he was intensely cute and he was my Big Pappa Frog and recently he hadn't been eating. Last night I peeked into his tank and he was just laying there with his eyes shut. I checked to see if he was breathing and he was, so I tried to take him out of the tank. Now usually, whenever I tried to take him out he'd hop all over the place and try to get away and then when I got him out he would hop all over the place leaving me unable to get him back into the tank; so you understand how worried I got when he sat in my hand and let me pet him and hold him and pet his stomach.
I was woken up at 5am or so by the boyfriend and I immediately asked about Plato, since he had been up for a bit. He told me that he took him outside and let him hop away in the yard and he saw him eat and then hop into the bushes. I was content, fell back to sleep and woke up a few hours later. I was rubbing sleep out of my eyes and said "So, you took Plato outside?" and he just looked down at the ground and said yes. I then proceeded to freak out because I knew he was lying, called him a liar and made him tell me what happened. After me carrying on for quite some time he finally told me that Plato had stopped breathing, he took him out of his tank and wrapped him up and put him outside.
Bye, Plato.
