The man behind Newmans Own...the brand that gives all its profits to charity, as well as the man whom appeared in such classics as "Cool Hand Luke" and "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" has passed away at the age of 83 from cancer.

I've never been much of one for celebrity worship and I don't usually reply to these threads but Newman really was special. R.I.P. :rose:

1 Oscar as an actor
106 wins as a race car owner :D

What he did with the profits from Newmans Own and starting the Hole in the Wall Gang Camps is the best part of all.

Paul Newman was indeed a great man. I enjoyed his classic roles that have been mentioned and his more recent roles as the crime boss Rooney in 'Road to Perdition' and Doc Hudson in 'Cars'. The man has passed, but the legend will always be with us. May many as rich in money and talent as Paul be inspired to follow his example and live as well as he.
