Those things were awesome even though the men never went where you wanted them to.

Easy to make touchdowns. Wedge formations worked every time.
Got old real fast after you figured that out.
It was noisy and the little men broke easy and if you got uniforms from your favorite team it took the patience of a saint to get them on all the players.
The only reason anyone knows what it is today is because of the "back in my day" factor.
