So was this budding alchemist smart or incredibly stupid?
WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. – A funeral home might be a place for eternal rest, but police say an Arkansas man saw an opportunity to build a methamphetamine lab undisturbed by the living. There was just one problem — the funeral home was across the street from the sheriff's office.

Officers said Robert Lee Lewis, 43, left the light on in the basement of the Higginbotham Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge on Dec. 3. Officers noticed the light on after hours and walked into the funeral home through an open door. Inside, police said they found all the components necessary to build a meth lab. Officers arrested Lewis, a former employee at the funeral home, when he returned.
Rest of the story here.

Sounds kinda "Scooby Doo-ish" doesn't it? "I woulda gotten away with it too...if not for that darn Sheriff's Office across the street!"

America's Dumbest Crooks!

And America's most dangerous if they encounter the cops while high. Methamphetamines can make people hyper and freaky. I had a shoplifter on them once when I worked security at Wal-Mart. It took myself and 12 cops to subdue the guy and get him into a patrol car. Other meth-heads I've heard about have exhibited super strength, wild eyes, robotic personalities. It's a psycho drug. Makes one glad when idiots create explosions trying to manufacture it- almost.

Brilliant! Truly. But the devil's is in the details, eh?

Although, if he hadn't left the light on the smell might have tipped them off.

Excellent effort though!

Way better than the convenience store robber who walked home in the snow.
