Apparently, when they are included around the first word in a title, they elicit more views and more comments and votes.
I have a story, "Little" Mandy and Her Daddy's Shower, which is strictly a stroke incest story. Apparently, before posting it, Lit. placed the quotation marks to show the "Little" was a nickname. I have three other stories with the same characters, all in the Incest Category but with no quotation marks.
This one has 368 votes, which don't average very high, and 132,813 views. This is almost twice as many of both as older stories have about the same characters. A story that begins with quotation marks or other punctuation is closer to the front of the alpha listing for the category, and I guess that is why all the views, which have resulted in a lot of votes.
That's not a complaint, just an observation.
