Quiz: Which Western feminist icon are you?

You are Judith Butler! Your postmodern queer theory has shaken up people's ideas of gender, sexuality, and sex. Your work has blurred lines between what it means to be a womyn and what it means to be a man. Queens and transbois all over the world worship your Birkenstocks!

Let's see if there is any Canadian feminists in this thinger...

Ok i bit...

You are Emma Goldman! You are the mama of Anarchist/Communist feminism and you inspired millions to embrace the labor movement. Without ever directly saying so, you directed efforts toward saving wymyn and children from exploitation. Oh yeah, you were also a total sexpot!

thanks again, femininity!!!

I scored a Frida Kahlo, cool.

Me too. In 4 questions, I'm not sure how they arrived there, though. Big whoop, I'm bi. Isn't everyone?

I'm not a feminist. I'm actually on the MALE SIDE when it comes to Gender Issues. I'm a Masculinist. A Men's Rights Activism. A member of the Men's Issues columns and Men's Activism News Network affiliate. My favorite Masculinist Icon is Hercules. In ancient times, Hercules fought for justice and helped protect humans from evil monsters, gods and power-mad rulers. He also took on the man-hating Amazons, the feminazi of ancient times.

Samuel, Samuel, Samuel...

I am just a little disappointed?

When did being a feminist automatically exclude men's rights? I would suggest, instead, that true feminism supports all in their quest for becoming fully human, regardless of the genitals we were born with or desire...

Another take, Aztec philosophy, for instance, acknowledges the existence of male and female in all of us - recognizing and celebrating both is integral to our realizing who we were meant to be - and isn't that also part and partial of being bi?

Re: Amazons - the archeological data would contradict - it appears that there were, during the time of the Greeks, in Eastern Europe and Northern Turkey, vast geographical tracts (thought by some to be the origin of the Amazon myth) where women had tremendous power and even participated as warriors in battle but that like the Minoans, those cultures were not female dominated but egalitarian when it came to gender...

~ Justine

P.S., Despite your comment, and your very unfortunate use of a Rush Limbaugh term - would hope that anyone in the LGBT/queer continuum would think twice before quoting him - my fragment of a poem on the "women who love bi men" thread still stands, dedicated to all bi men through one bi man, you know :rose:

My pleasure

Catharine MacKinnon

You are Catharine MacKinnon! You are one amazing smarty-pants! You're hell on wheels and you know it, but you also know that because you're the "pretty" radical feminist, you get off easier in public. You combine law, philsophy, and feminist theory. You truly are a triple threat!

OK, now am officially wondering...

What answers get which icon??? Nice one, Nirvana :)
