I saw the title and wondered a bit, too. Having lived in Tampa for 30+ years, I know what quinceañera is Then having opened the post and seen your location, I relaxed a little... and more when I actually read it.

I've actually attended a few, having had some good friends of Cuban extraction for years and years. And yes, it is a beautiful thing to see as the father sadly but joyously surrenders his princess to oncoming adulthood. I don't think I ever saw even one of them get through that dance without at least a strong glimmer of tears in his eyes.
