If I put a link to sign up for my own personal Sunnie-written newsletter (powered by CafePress, really and truly written by me and me alone) into my Lit profile or my sig, will I get in trouble? Or can I actually market that way?

That's fine. Plenty of others do something similar. It's ok to promote your own personal site, just not a commercial site.
