Questions on Writers Software.

Thanks. Never liked Japanese history and I have no patience with the language, either. Chinese is interesting, for some reason, though.

I am amazed that a foreigner could ever learn to speak the Han (Mandarin Chinese) language, what with it being a tonal language and all. "Ma" for instance, has five disparate meanings depending on tone. Two possible meanings for "Ma" are "mother" and "horse." I'm sure you can see the potential for an embarrassing faux pas.

Learning to speak simple always polite Japanese is comparitively simple.

Download MSWord and don't waste your money on anything that says it's an 'author tool'. Most of them are just modified text tools...

This isn't the case with programs like Dramatica and NewNovelist. They are more about the writing process than formatting text.

Also, for those who care, M$ software hides all manner of information (which you may not want known, like revision logs etc...) in the files you create. It is possible to strip this horrible breach of privacy and security from your files. Of course, you'd never know that information was there, because it doesn't show up in word. Anyone in the know, however, can easily extract it.

This security breach bit British P.M Tony Blair in the arse.

Q., I suppose I shouldn't be, but I am - stunned. Do you have any idea (or possibly conspiracy theory) why MS Word has this hidden feature?

curiously, Perdita

If only people had any idea of what is hidden throughout the scripts in the MS codes, lol.

That goes for processor chips too, before they are allowed to be exported outside the States. (Even 15 years ago they had an assortment of secret devices. One now common knowledge is the ability to self destruct via satellite signal, so causing havoc to an enemy states communications. (air traffic, traffic lights, data bases, hospital equipment, military installations, guidance systems, etc.)

It's a funny old world :)
