I have completed a story that is dear to me.
I am researching and rewriting now. Some questions
have arise as I try and "tweak" this tale. Perhaps
you can answer them:

1) Was "Old Yeller" a (Curr) dog or a
yellow lab?

2) Can you name any famous black
labrador retrievers off the top of your head?
(other than the Lycos lab)

3)How touchy is the topic..."Hunting" or
"Shooting a bird," and any Ideas how to
deliver this and be politically correct? Or not
step on any toes?

I appreciate your help.
Thanks Art~

Numbchucks

Old Yeller was a blonde lab.

Yes one: Numbchucks:D

Hunting for one's food with Chucks will not become politically uncorrect.

Step on my toes Art and I will dance until you know your story is well earned and a great read.

The moment a story becomes politically correct, it probably does not belong here.

Yes - The mascot of the "Dambusters" squadron was a black lab named "Nigger" and belonging to Gp. Cpt. Guy Gibson.

His name was the codeword for success in breaching the Mohne and Eider dams. It had to be changed when the film was released in the USA to avoid offending all those white liberals.

Oh My...
I should either not post the story...
(which I need for the survival contest.)
or post it at another politically correct forum?
or just change my wording...he he he

I will have to just step carefully while writing...

Thanks Vincent E~

A clip from Dambusters with the original wording intact is played on Pink Floyd's The Wall movie

my tale

I don't think it will offened any one about hunting birds. People don't get worked up over bird hunting as they do say deer hunting. So I wouldn't worry to much about it. If some people don't like it they can click on to another story. If it fits into your story use it. I know people who don't hunt and the read Robert Ruark, Horn of the hunter, Use enough gun, The Old man and the boy. If you have never read this I would recmend them he was one of the best of the best. I like his books better than Hemingway. So go for it.
