The thing about being in a nude situation is that it just seems to make everyone friendlier. It breaks down the barriers, I suppose, and everyone is fair game to chat with. I think because it emphasizes what we have in common, rather than our differences. I've made some of my best friends (and some awesome lovers) while hanging out nude.

Yes to all three, despite being nervous at our first nude beach/resort it didn’t take long to talk to people, socialise and learn from not experienced nudists about etiquette and the best places for sexual activity both watching and engaging in. To be honest we didn’t actually go to our first resort for sex we went to experience a nudist resort and see if it was for us. It turns out we loved it and have been a few times to other beaches and resorts

I must start by saying that while I'm not a nudist, I don't mind being nude or having others see me nude. That being said, I know that nudity can be off putting to others. And sometimes I use this to my advantage. For instance, my ex thought the naked body was disgusting. So if he started to pick a fight with me, I'd lift my shirt. He'd run away screaming!

My background is in dance and acting and I'm quite used to changing clothes in a unisex dressing room. That's not a big deal to me.

That being said, to me, the naked body in and of itself isn't a turn on. It *can* be. It just depends.

I have gone too far in a public setting and didn't like it because others were objecting. Doesn't bother me if others want to watch. But making others uncomfortable is not my thing.

I'll agree with Jada here.
I'm an exhibitionist but that doesn't mean that I undress in front of random people. I go to nude beaches sometimes, but that's not sexual to me. I just enjoy the feeling of being without clothes.

I've both watched and been watched during sex, and both was a big turn on. But that was developed from mutual interest. I've had a lot of out door sex too, but never choose a spot that was obvious to be spotted from some one else. I don't want to offend or make people uncomfortable.

The naked body is like Jada said not sexual to me in it self. It's always beautiful but not always sexy.

Yes to all three in most general terms, but with a lot of nitpicking and nuance; no to all in most strict interpretation.

I'm another non-nudist naturist. Yes, that's confusing by design, but what it generally says, I don't dig social nudism and have been to designated nude beaches just a handful of times. At the same I often jokingly claim I don't own any swimwear, and by default swim nude unless someone strictly insists I should wear something. I insist that nudity is required in sauna.

Then, I'm happy to live in land with just about 2M residents, but 300 miles of beautiful white sand beach, more than 12k named rivers, brooks and streams, and more than 3k named lakes, and if you dig a large enough hole in the ground, it will fill with water, and such ponds are at nearly every second homestead. (Sure, the water will be cold, and frogs will live there, and ducks, and stark will visit beaver, and whatever you name, so you will need to manage that ecosystem for it to be of recreational use.)

Nudity is legal anywhere outside city limits, unless otherwise regulated, private property trumps both ways.

Then, a true nude-comfortable weather is restricted to maybe twenty days a year, randomly distributed between May and September. And if you can predict weather three days in advance you're suspected to be a witch. Meteorologists are proud about reaching 40% accuracy.

And only tiny percentage of that aforementioned public beach is developed and regulated, and divided in enforced textile and officially nude. Then there's some popular unregulated beaches that are customary textile, and other areas that are established as knowingly clothing optional, but rest and most is wild, and by default starts as clothing optional unless disturbed, making nudity chance inversely proportional to number of visitors per mile.

And the proper custom at wild swimming holes is to back off and come back later or go elsewhere if it's in use and you don't know the occupants, regardless of their attire choices, although it depends on the relative popularity of said location. Some may flip between private and public on unwritten schedule, and so on.

It's places like those I have observed public sex. I have been observed by perfect stranger(s) having sex in between dunes behind a rather crowded wild beach (crowded by local standards, maybe 40 persons per mile).

The general attitudes used to be different from what I'm learning to interpret as current anglophone norms, although I believe they rather reflected older, let's say, pre-Victorian normal, at least as attributed to lower strata, peasant populations, not contaminated by bullshit of power hungry interpretations of Abrahamic religions.

To summarize, nudity is not a taboo, but regulated, and open sexuality is enforced taboo. It is offensive to wear clothes in sauna. Functional nudity is expected and a non-issue; Swimsuit is mildly an oxymoron. However, it is offensive to eat or work in the nude, and not necessarily to others, but to Food or Work and by proxy to God.

Modern globalization apply pressure to normalize open sexuality and at the same time establish unconditional taboo on nudity. In many ways it's the exact opposite and crippling in my opinion.

Yes, as I have been to a couple of nude adult/lifestyle resorts and several secluded nude beaches and enjoyed the shows. (Of course, AANR/Naturist Society nudist resorts frown on outdoors and overt sexual activity at the resort, but some do have some sexual parties on-site in members' homes.)
