Questions about buying a strap-on

Hubby and I want to go strap-on shopping when we have some extra money someday, but there's certain features I want and don't know if it's possible to get them all in one strappy or how much it will cost. Can anyone walk/talk me through this and tell me where I need to look for our next toy?

I want it to be 6-7" long, MAYBE up to 8; be about the girth of my husband (he's 5-5/8"around); optional vibe, something to stick in my own pussy while I fuck him, and be a little curved to hit his prostate or my g-spot, depending upon who's on the driver's end of it.

Am I asking too much of a mere toy? The selection is SO overwhelming in any catalog or site that I get easily confused about what's the best. Any help/advice/reviews you can give would be great.

Oh, and how do I want it to attach to me? Elastic straps? A panty? Something else I don't even know about yet? Should we buy like a sampler pack/starter kit, or buy each addition separately? We can't afford to spend a lot for this, but it's gotta be good to last us a while.

I don't even know what else to ask right now. I'd appreciate whatever help and experience you can give me. I can't wait to be his substitute cock!

Well, I don't know a whole lot of specifics but I would recommend getting one that's 5-6" or not much longer. While girth is a concern with anal sex ('stretching exercises' in preparation and all that delightful stuff), the biggest concern should be depth, because as you pass the anal sphincters, you get to the part of the ass (this part being the rectum) where there is little to no feeling and it can be very easy to damage something without even knowing it if you go too deep.

So, if your hubby might be a 'size queen' I would recommend going for girth, while limiting the length to 6" or less, maybe even 5, because then you can fuck him to the hilt as hard and as fast as you like with less risk of hurting him (in a bad way). Though not too wide if you're interested in him sucking it, which is more for looks and/or his submission than your stimulation unless you practically facefuck him.

That being said, I think that if you don't want to spend a lot of money then you should focus what you are willing to spend on durability, rather than a lot of bells and whistles, because you did say it will have to last you a while. And if my feeling is correct, then I think you and he will still be amused by a barebones (heh, "bone") strap-on for a long time to cum. In other words, no vibrating bullet attachments esoecially expensive materials (I think latex would be realsitic enough, at least for your first strap-on).

Anyway, keep in mind that no strap-on is necessarily THE best, only the best for you. So try to think of what you really want.

As for attachment methods, I would think that something with straps would be more durable and more versatile, of course allowing access to your own ass and/or your pussy, depending on the model. Additionally, I would consider what sort of stimulation you need to reach orgasm. If clitoral stimulation is enough, then any strap-on with a base that goes over your clit will be enough, but if you need penetration there are some models that have a dildo on your side as well (though I imagine they're more expensive).

I'm sure there are other things to consider when buying a strap-on, and if I remember I'll add them later, but for now I'd also like to mention a few things about anal sex in general.

The first thing is cleanliness. He should be clean (washed thorughly and enema) if for no other reason than aesthetics and 'you' (the dildo) should be thorughly clean as well, because the rectum is highly susceptible to bacteria and passing it into the bloodstream.

Secondly, too much lube is not enough. Don't be afraid to splooge...oops, I mean splurge when it cums to lubrication. It's fairly cheap anyway. And one thing I strongly recommend against is anything with an analgesic (heh, "anal"). That is, painkiller, such as Astroglide. Pain is your body's signal that it's being damaged and for the most part you do not want to kill the messenger, especially in such sensitive areas (oddly the brain is not considered a sensitive or improtant area, as we take painkillers for headaches all the time :D ). What you don't know can hurt you. So when you order or otherwise purchase lube, check for anywhere (on the site and/or the label) that it might mention an analgesic, especially anything that ends in "-caine." For example, Lydocaine is one of the most commonly used painkillers for over-the-counter products.

Thirdly, patience patience patience! Especially the first few times around. Let him set the pace and by all means, communicate. Make sure he lets you know if exactly what you're doing is okay or if it's hurting him too much.
They say that if it's done right, it doesn't hurt at all even the first time, but I think that varies from person to person. However, I do think it's possible for almost anyone to recieve anal sex with little pain if using a little effort, and a lot of patience, concern and communication.

*flexes fingers* Okay! Let's talk toys.

First, I would suggest that you redefine what you mean by strap-on. You seem to be talking as if you are only buying one thing, but really you're buying two. You are buying a dildo, and you are buying a harness to put in it. While there are kits like the Bend Over Boyfriend starter set, you are still buying two separate pieces that go together. And if you shop for your harness carefully, you can swap out dildos of different sizes!

My next word of caution is that it's unlikely your husband would be wearing this to fuck (or double fuck) you. The vast majority of harnesses and dildos are not made for this, with the exception of the rather pricey Men's Harness. Two-strap harnesses can be worn by guys, but not particularly comfortably except for the Crown harness.

Okay, let's talk dildos. You mentioned wanting to be penetrated also; this is done by a double dildo. I can't recommend the Nexus highly enough. It's designed for a woman to wear with a harness while she's fucking somebody else, and I've been on both the giving and receiving ends of this one, and it's great! The design is unlike any other: the part that goes in the woman is curved to really fit a woman's anatomy. The Nexus is a bit expensive, but it's silicone and it will last for a long, long time. As for other dildos you could get, well, I could go on all day! Stuponfucious has already made some good points about size considerations, so I'll just talk about materials. Non-silicone dildos are generally a fair bit cheaper than silicone, and they come in a whole range of shapes and sizes. By the way, if you want something that "feels real" but is cheaper than Cyberskin, check out the UR3 dildos at the bottom of this page. I haven't personally tried them but I've heard good things.

Now for the harnesses. Personally I prefer the two-strap style, not only because it leaves the pussy/ass accessible but also because I find it more comfortable. The one-strap (g-string) style is popular too...but I've never enjoyed it much. The harness both my wife and I each have one of (saves time adjusting!) is the Texas Two-Strap.

As a final note, may I suggest picking up Fairy Butch's book The Ultimate Guide to Strap-On Sex.

thread.... It is very long and filled with lots of info.

My wife and I own the Doc Johnson Ultra Harness 2000 with a variety of attachments.... You can see pics at the last page of the thread above, just go to the last page.

This is an expensive unit, but very durable and adjustable. Here is a link to a pic, but please shop around... Pricing varies from site to site.

This link is for information only and not an endorsement.

Adjustability is important for your fit as no two bodies are exactly the same, but once you have it adjusted for your body type, it takes little time to step into the harness and fasten up one side.

There is a wide assortment of sizes and shapes of dildos to choose from. Here is a link to the best prices I have found for attachments.

There are other options, like the "Feeldoe" strapless dildo, but I have not had any experence with this newer toy. Here is the home page.

I am awaiting a product review at the Lit thread I posted earlier, so you may wish to follow that thread by subscribing to it...

Since I am on the recieving end and lack the perspective you are seeking I will share any questions you have with my wife, just PM me and I will pass them along. She is a poster here, but is not very active. I will see what I can do to get her to your post.

BTW, I enjoyed your other post about your hubby loosing his cherry! You are both very lucky.....

All good info on this thread. From this women's point of view.....I love the Doc Johnson Vac U Lock, and have had alot of fun with it, but there are a few things I don't like. The configuration allows you to change dildos and it's easy to do, but the base is square with sharp ends that can be uncomfortable if you get the straps really tight or if you are really enthusiatic in your thrusting. On the other hand, the base for the dildo is really secure and I have never had a concern that it would "fail" on me during our most exciting moments. Also, the ability to adjust the straps to my body via three sets of buckles is a great feature. It's also easy to clean and nice looking.

Au-man, my hubby, posted the site for the feeldoe and I'm hoping I get one of those for Valentine's day or sooner! I would really like to try it strapless, not rally sure about it being secure or easy to control though.

But, my final word is this, whichever unit you decide upon you will love it and you can always save up and buy something else after you wear the first one out!

Yup yup, that's my thinking too. If it works, then I'm sure it would be really cool. But I'm skeptical that it will be too hard to control and/or fall out!

Believe Etoile... It's a worthy dream

So worthy in fact that I made an investment. We'll see whether the feeldoe is worthy of all its praise.
