Question on resubmission

Got a question for you guys. I have a story that will end up being about 20 chapters long. Each chapter is only about one to two lit pages long and one of the most consistant complaints was that people wanted longer chapters. I am thinking about doing a minor rewrite of the entire thing and resubmitting it in about 5 chapters.

If I resubmitt do I lose my comments and ratings and start over?

Has anyone else done this and is it worth it?

I'm fairly sure that if you resubmitted it with fewer chapters you'd lose your comments and ratings. I think you can edit what is essentially the same chapter and keep them, but not if you're going to restructure the whole story into fewer blocks.

My personal preference for chapters is around 2 pages long and from reading around here on the forum, I think that's quite common. Four or more pages tends to prompt more back-clicking--it takes more investment of the reader's time.

I'd leave well alone if I were you. People asking for longer chapters just means that they're really enjoying what you're writing--and want more!
