A friend of mine is deleting her account. I want to publish her works (giving her full credit and including the date of original publishing) after her account dies.. she has given me permission to do this.

My question now is... is that allowed? like.. it isn't plagiarism because I'm giving her credit?

My heart is saddened that she's leaving the site permanently... I enjoyed her work immensely and feel that it should continue on...

Any advice//comments?

If she's given permission for you to publish the content, why doesn't she just leave her story account as is, turn off voting, don't allow comments, turn off feedback and turn off PMs, and leave the stories up? It makes no sense to shut an account and allow the stories to go back up under another name. She can still walk away from Lit and have nothing to do with her account - just leave the content frozen in time.

Your approach though - you'd have to clear it with Laurel, and I doubt she'd just take your word for permission. She'd probably want to see explicit permission from the author.

I read that forum posts cannot be deleted after an account is deactivated. If that's true, then let this board post serve as evidence of my consent that Lolita_Slut may, if she so wishes, republish my story/poem after my account is gone.

Personally, I am not attached to the story at all. The poem is fine - but I know I wrote it, and it's in my hardrive. I outgrew this site, and outgrew this username for SURE. But I did meet some cool people, and Lolita is one of those people. She came in when I was on my way out.

There you go, Lolita. Love you, bbg. see you 'round the riverbend xxx. I've already requested that my account be deleted. There's no un-ringing that bell. I'm OUTTA HERE.

Can’t DTT just email the hard-drive versions to the OP, who can then just upload them (with attribution) like any other submissions?
