Greetings.
This will be my 2nd post here on Lit, my 1st being a poem I submitted a few days ago. It's still pending, and it makes me wonder: how long, on average, does story/poem approval take here?
Thanks,
Vell

You're confusing posting on the forums with publishing stories and other works.

The Lit forums can be confusing to navigate. On the whole, anything about writing and publishing is best posted in the Authors' Hangout. It's one of the few forums where the posters actually talk about writing.

Anyway, the official answer to your question is here: Story Pending For More Than 72 Hours? Please Read.

The *actual* answer is "nobody knows". It can be as little as an hour, it can be weeks. New writers sometimes mention that they have to wait longer for approval, but then again plenty of established authors report long waits as well.

At the moment there's a contest and a few author-organised events going on, and those stories generally take precedence. But the contest closes today, and I think two of the events have also recently ended, so maybe some of the backlog will be cleared shortly.

If you're still waiting after a week or so, the general advice is to send a polite DM to Laurel, the site owner. You won't hear back, but if your story/poem fell through the cracks this usually puts things back on track.

Good luck!
