Hey, folks. Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but I was wondering about the acceptable level of bloodshed and death in a story.

I've got a 21,000 word novella ready to submit, but as it involves demons and sacrifices and such, I want to make sure I haven't exceeded the gore threshold.

Any help would be muchly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You've got two choices. One is to contact Laurel or Manu (the powers that be around here) by e-mail or PM before submitting and explain your situation. The other choice is to go ahead and submit the sucker but include a note about the content. They'll let you know if the content in inappropriate or, what's more likely, how best to describe it so that unsuspecting readers don't freak.

That's thhe right address. You just have to be patient, 'cause Laurel gets hundreds of e-mails every day. Give her at least a week before you try again -- if necessary.
