Question for you ladies - with french manicured nails

sorry kate, doesn't look like anyone has any answers for you. I just always do my own, so I have no idea.

I had my nails done in the french manicure (solar nails) about a month or so ago. I like it a lot - but now I'm bored with just the white tips. Can you paint these and take the polish off without ruining the solar nail stuff???? Any help is appreciated.

Kate, explain to me what Solar nail stuff is. Is it Acrylic? is it gel?

Ahhh. I had NO idea what you were talking about, and I often get French manicures.

BUT this is not a french manicure question - it's a fake nail question!

Use NON-acetone nail polish. When you're ready to take your nails off, use acetone.

It sounds acrylic. I know that's what my cosmotologist uses on me. The powder part I mean.

I don't see any reason why you can't paint them, as long as you use non-acetone polish remover, as the acetone will screw up a nice set of nails.

I paint over my french tips all the time. Sometimes I just leave em plain. I have a clear tips put on though... the white part is a powder, like the pink stuff. She even has blue, purple, red, orange, yellow and green. There are so many things they can do to tips now.

If you're still not sure, I would talk to your nail person and ask them what they would do and if it was safe. :)

Good Luck...

OPI and China Glaze both make some truely funky colors that are non-acetone. If you have an Ulta Salon in your area, they will at least carry the OPI. My manicurist uses these.
