Question for the newbies

Being a newbie myself, I know I was very leary of posting so I did quite a bit of lurking and reading before I even registered.

My question is "What keeps you from posting?"

For me, I was just intimidated by most of the people here. There were so many that posted intelligently and seemed to know exactly what they were talking about. Ironically, that's the reason I was attracted to this site in the first place!

So, I took the plunge, registered and then posted all in one day. It was easy and I even survived looking a little bit like a dork. :p

Now it's YOUR turn.

Post.

Stop in and say HI.

Tell a little about yourself.

If not here in this thread, Lukky has a great little joint here where he warmly welcomes ALL newbies.
He doesn't bite ...........
or at least I don't THINK he does ............
I'll have to pop over and ask him. Besides I hear the place is being decorated as I type this.

(My apologies if this is just like another thread.)

Welcome, Trish. And LukkyKnight doesn't bite, unless you want him to.

well, first of all, welcome. i haven't been around all that long and i can tell you and all the other new folks that what you're feeling is normal. remember how you felt the first day of high school? do i look right, will anyone like me, will i figure out some brand new way to embarrass myself in front of everyone"

same thing here. just jump in and have fun. nobody's gonna bite you unless, of course, you ask them to.

Hiya Trish

Thanks for the warm welcome. Does the mother bird ask the baby birdies if they would like to try flyin? Hell no. Mother bird pushes em outta the nest and lets nature take over.

:)

I find myself lurking only cuz there is so much to look at and so many good thoughts on issues posted. This site keeps drawin me back and i love it.

yes

Welcome to Lit Trish.
You are right there is an awful lot of intelligent people here. I do my best to lower the IQ level but it can still be pretty intimidating.

Hello and welcome PepperminTrish

I was a member for over a month before I got up enough courage to start posting .... but I admit I had/have it easier than most newbies .... two of my friends came over with me.

I post on what I think are amusing or interesting threads ... and sometimes I look like a dork, but I just keep at it and hope that I'll get better as time goes on.

Thanks lilminx and I may just have to ask him if he bites tonight ............... that would just seem to fit my mood to a T!

lol nothing keeps me from posting. I've been involved with several online communities in various formats, so I don't really get newbie fear much anymore.

Combine that with the *huge* quantity of posters here and I figure even if I piss one person off stating my opinions there's 10 more who will agree. I'll make friends eventually.

I am trying to read the threads to try to get an idea of the various relationships (friends and otherwise). Flirting doesn't seem safe until you know who's whose. *g*

Overall I've had a very warm welcome here and I don't foresee leaving anytime soon. :)

She's been having free drinks in the other thread, pay no attention to the erratic typing. We'll get her keys before she leaves.

Minxy bites...

A bite from Minxie keeps you happy and kinky.

UncleJ, use the bite line tomorrow- I can't help it if I'm too fast for you.

Hello Trish!

Hope you will have fun here. We are nice bunch (mostly) and quite nice (at times), we don't bite (hard) but we do require you to switch off the lights when you are the last one to leave :D

Happy Posting!
Halo :rose:

I'm a newbie! I can't say I shared your feelings of intimidation...it was frustrating how everyone seemed to know each other and I was the guy who showed up to the party he wasn't invited to....but I am the guy who shows up to parties he isn't invited to...I just have fun on my own and eventually I find others always join in...

I'm afrraid I might say the wrong thing or say something totally stupid...*LoL*:D

Also explored around the site awhile before posting. Whole thing makes me a little dizzy with the sheer number of people, stories postings etc. Got the nerve to post once I found spots that seemed soft, safe and on my feet. Alot of "very vetrans" on the threads is a little daunting as I get the impression that other people know each other and the ropes much better than I do.

Site could have a special forum or such for newbies but I can see it would just get blown away in the general proceedings.

Great site. Come a little at least every day and always leave a little richer.

If the line of post's seemingly are between a small group of people then I feel it would be rude of me to post, no matter how interesting the thread may appear. Other than that, I feel free to post if I want to. Most threads I do not post in because I have nothing to say on the subject or find them boring. It does seem, however, until you reach a certain time frame you are viewed as an outsider and that you must prove your worthiness which in an adult community is wrong, but thats just how the world works. The only thing that grates my nerves here is a select few regs that will jump someones case for merely having a difference of opinion. It does not matter that you did not call them out personally, all you have to do is have a different opinion. However, once again, that's just life in general for some folks are much nicer than others.

Never let anyone intimidate you here, in most cases they are nothing but an AV and name on your screen.

.

If you have something to add to a thread, jump in regardless...Its the best way to meet and get to know the locals..If anyone wants to go one on one exclusively they have the PMs or other chat applications to use..:)
