Question for the Mods of ORP

Why are there only 26 open threads? A page holds 40, and other forums have more than one page.

I am asking because several threads that I wanted to complete or pull stuff off of or whatever are gone.

For example: I didn't post for two weeks and my Botney Bay, which I admit was pretty much a solo effort, was gone when I got back.

Is there a reasoning for this? So many days pass without a post and then there is a kill date?

Also I'd kinda like to read some of the old stuff that other people wrote.

It hardly lures new people to this board if they see such meager offerings. They too might like to read through some stuff and then get a spark. Even if they couldn't join they could start a new thread along the same themes.

Just wondering,

Thanks.

From what I understand of things (and I am not a computer expert, so if someone knows more about the system Lit is using for the bulletin board, please call me wrong) but it isn't that we only have a certain number of posts on the first page, and then everything else is gone.
If you look on the bottom, right before the New Thread button, and just above the HOME/ STORY INDEX/ AUDIO INDEX links, there is a little cache that you can use to sort the stories any way you want.

For example you can put them, instead of the order of most recent posts, alphabetical, or chronological (which started first) there are several more choices.
It also sets up when you read the latest threads. It says you read them in (blank) order from (blank) time ago.
You can read them in descending order from just the last day. Or ascending order from two weeks ago, it's your preference.
Now, the standard for this, is Descanding order (most recent post) from the last day (posted 24 hours ago). Unless you change it, that is what it is going to be, which means after a few days if no one posts, the thread gets bumped to the second page.

Dear, none of the threads are gone, especially your clever writing. All of the threads, if no one replies for a few days, goes to the second page of the ORP thread. On the bottom, next to this little changes you can make, are page numbers. The first page isn't linked, because you are on the first page, but the others ones are. You can go back for months and look at old stories, if you choose.
I bet your Botany thread (which I was reading, and had injoyed quite immensely) is on Page two, waiting for you to dust it off and add another chapter.

I think part of this is just that the bulletin board is designed for just about anyone to use, but it takes a few hours of playing on it buy yourself, to really look at some of the options given to you, in order to figure out the more complex stuff.

Like, how you can to to your USER CP, there's a link at the top, beneath the Freedom of Speech flyers, and change how many posts you see per page of a thread (standard is twenty, but you can change that) whether or not you look at other Literotican's avatars (I shut this off if I can't get to my computer in a few days, and have to use the libraries. Nothing like someone looking over my shoulder at an AV with some guy's dripping penis over a nice blonde)

There are literally tons of stuff you can do. If you have any questions or concerns, write them here, or just PM me. I don't know everything, and am far from an expert, but I've spent about three years here, so I've been solo surfing around this place, and know most of the in's and outs of the threads.

I hoped I answered at least part of your questions. Thank you for your concern, and your time. Keep up the writing, we need more posters like you, especially female. So hard to find in the ORP. I think there are only three or four lovelies floating around here. (blowing kisses to all)

Ooh, you are such a smooth talker!

Thank you for all your wisdom and compliments!
