Question for people with a favourite vibrator

It’s around four in the morning. You’ve been out dancing all night. You’ve had a bit to drink, and you’ve had some ecstasy. You’re incredibly turned on and in the middle of a very hot make out session.

Would you have trouble explaining your go-to setting on your favourite vibrator to your partner? Or is it automatic knowledge that would just come out by rote?

Not all sex toys are vibrators, and then I'd say that switching things up is normal. Starting off slow and easing up is how I'd say most people play with their favourite toy. Depends a lot on how sensitive things are, and how wet they are.

Part of why eggs are my favourite. They often only have a couple settings, but they're simple, and it's more about your own teasing movements. Bounce about a bit until things are ready, and then slide inside. But not everyone prefers interior play.

Yeah, the toy in question as I’ve written it is a silicone egg with variable intensity and multiple patterns. I was thinking of something I once bought with an ex, pretty sure it was Fun Factory.

My favorite vibrator is a muscle massager. Different things for different ages, so to speak.

I had one of those multi speed multi pattern eggs that had a remote control. I had a couple of partners that found it very stimulating. Especially in public places.

They're all supposed to be for muscle massage, at least that's what they say.

I don't think a setting would need to be explained. If my wife is in the mood to use one while we play, she either starts without me so I can walk in on her, or while we're messing around she'll say, "Get me the purple one."

All I know is when she asks for wand its going to be a long night and the sheets are going to need changing...before we fall asleep.

No you're not. You're just a perv, and you know it! :)

It’s not like the two are mutually exclusive.

I honestly thought it was an interesting question as well. I know that, even in chemically enhanced states, I have pretty good recall when it comes to what my partners like, and toys that I’m familiar with. But as I was writing dialogue around a character explaining her toy and where she liked to start out with it, it occurred to me that I’ve never asked people about where that information sits in their brains and how easy or difficult it would be to recall in the heat of the moment with other mitigating factors at play.

EB, we're all pervs, and we all know it.

Amen to that.

Bump to the original question. It's one of those topics about which I'd like to get input from those who use the devices. It's very useful, from a male author's POV.

My entirely non-scientific observation, based on my own experiences as an observer, is that the Hitachi Wand seems to be the go-to instrument for getting the job done, but I had never thought to ask about a favorite setting. Is it better at a higher or lower setting?

There are attachments one can add to the wand head. There's a latex attachment that looks like a tongue, for instance. Does that make a difference? I've . . . ahem . . . used one with an attachment on a partner but I wasn't sure whether it made a difference. I should have asked. I don't know if the OP's original question includes such considerations.

Sidenote from a male perspective: the wand seems to rank high for effectiveness for the user, but from the partner/observer's standpoint, it's not very sexy. It's very industrial/practical. The cord is somewhat limiting. I wonder if anyone else has had similar impressions.

C's fave vibrator is similar in function to the multi-mode egg EML is talking about - maybe even has the same internal mechanism. It's also of silicone construction, but is shaped like a tongue. It has three buttons, on, mode and off.

Doesn't take a lot to figure out, which is good; as mentioned (at length) elsewhere, C has problems with technology. She has no problem figuring out this toy. Oh, gawd. None.

There are cordless Magic Wands now, also looking a little less industrial tool like.

Surfing around on some of the sex toy sites can give you an idea what is available on the market.

Are they as powerful? My impression has always been that battery-operated devices cannot compete with cord-powered devices, but I don't know for certain about that.

They seem to be powerful enough, if customer reviews are anything to go by. Could also go searching for reviews outside the vendor's site.

I've debated entering into this discussion because it is impossible to anonymize how one gets the knowledge. But in the interests of artistic veracity, here goes.

The Hitachi Magic Wand is peerless for what it does. I'm sure some women can reach orgasm by the vibrations of battery-operated devices or enjoy the feeling of vibrations on the inside, but I've yet to meet one in person.

My experience has been using it to relatively quickly bring about orgasm after a longer session of whatever else you do short of coming. The woman lies on her stomach on top of the wand with its head against her clitoris. Her partner enters whichever exposed orifice she requests or can just massage her back if that's what she wants at the time. I can say that the feeling of being inside while the vibrator is switched to full power is, shall we say, pleasant.

We've purchased a couple of the attachments, but they're more trouble than they're worth and after using them a time or two, return to our reliable and unadorned routine.

It works very well for males as well. Low speed pressed firmly at the base of the shaft gets the job done. Careful though; high speed will rip your dick off.

We've played with lightweight battery vibrators, but they're really novelty items. At least for us, they were something of a starter path to sex toys.

Magic wands do a deep vibration that batteries just can't touch. As my spouse jokes, I'm such a pervert I use mine on my shoulders... (keeping a straight face when your physio brings one out is also a challenge)

Some come with only a couple settings, aka too low and too high. One with a dial is more controllable. Whether anyone who isn't the recipient can set it how the recipient wants is another question - there's a reason why Hitachi torture is A Thing.

In the OP scenario, I would predict "up a bit, down a bit, no the dial, don't move it; oh give it here - mm!"

I believe the Hitachi Wand is the device of choice in Hysterical Literature, which is well worth a watch.

I think, with this lead up, the question would actually be WHY would you describe your favorite vibrator setting? At 4:00 AM wouldn't the question be "What's the holdup buddy? I have to leave for work in 3 hours and my pussy isn't going to lick itself."

My favourite vibrator is an hitachi wand, mine has 10 separate settings it goes from a low hum vibration to a toe curling louder 9/10 . I always start off low and build it up

Also the holiday season is coming up. There is nothing women like more that a Hitachi sex toy as a stocking stuffer.

The Hitachi does not have a best setting, just many settings depending on mood.
