Question for other authors

I've been trying to turn off the anonymous comments, using "Options' on my control panel.. but somehow people are still posting them. whenever i go in to check on my stories it doesn't LOOK like that's possible! so what are people doing and how can i stop it?

I seem to have attracted some really awful people who say some really mean things to me, and then some people who are just horribly racsit/prejudiced/whatever in some other way, and have actually made me cry a couple times. I'm tired of getting this horrible response, but the positive response tends to be much more overwhelming... so i dont want to turn off ALL feedback, just the anonymous! i thought i had but ti doesnt' seem to have totally worked... what do i do???

You have misread the jargon. "Anonymous feedback" is the part you've turned off, and that refers, not to the public comments, but to the option to send an e-mail to the author.

You can delete public comments from the page where you check your submissions, one by one, the PCs you allow to remain are totally up to you. From the home page, go to Story_Index, then Login/Submissions/View. Within the section about any particular story is a blue link which allows you to read AND DELETE all the public comments.

The option to "turn off public comments" will make a story unavailable for that, but it makes no distinction between anonymous public comments and signed ones.
