Question for Ortho Tri-Cyclen users

Is there a way to skip your period for a month on Ortho Tri-Cyclen? I know with the single strenght pills you just skip the inactives and take the actives all the way through, but I don't know how to do it w/Ortho TC. My Dr. won't tell me because she believes doing that is bad for your body. I just need to do it for one month, I'm going to a wedding out of town and my period is the last thing I need.

If you're on Ortho TC and there is a way to do it, did it work or did you still spot some? Do you know if you can get pregnant or not if you skip on OTC? All of this is assuming, of course that there is even a WAY to skip.

I don't know, but I'd imagine anyone that does will tell you the same thing your doctor did.

If you're squeamish about doing it with your period, maybe you could try fucking in the shower?

It's fun, clean and never as erotic as it sounds in stories but still fun and clean.

The purpose of the placebos is to allow your body to menstruate. They also remind you to take your pills regularly so you don't skip,

I've never done it, but then again I don't like to fuck up my physiology any more than I have to. Personal convenience has never been a mitigating factor when deciding health issues.

Unless you intend to fuck your way through the groomsmen, why on earth would you want to screw around with your body like that?

I don't see why it would be any different than with other bcp. Just skip the "off" week pills and start the next package.

I've done it with my low dose bcp twice, I think. I didn't want my period during a particularly hectic vacation so I "moved" it a week later taking just one extra week of pills. I later moved it another two weeks taking the remaining two weeks of extra pills left in that package. That was about a year ago, and I've had no reason to want to move it since then.

Many doctors prescribe continuous bcp for women who have particularly bad periods so skipping periods for some length of time is not that unusual. A common side effect of bcp is a very reduced, or almost nonexistent period, anyway. Same thing with the Depo shots.

Where is Doctor Clozoff when you need him? I think I've read it is more of a psychological need for women to have their monthly period than a physical need. I know it is for me. One of the reasons I decided against Depo Provera was that it tended to eliminate periods completely. I didn't really want to do that. To me, having a period is part of being a woman.

I'm om Ortho, and I've skipped my period plenty of times by just starting a new pack when I'm supposed to be taking the placebos. I usually do that if I'm supposed to get my period while I'm on vacation or if I have a special occasion to go to. I've asked my past two gynecologists about it, and they both said it was safe. One gynecologist even told me that she's skipped hers for 3 months at a time.

I personally wouldn't skip more than one month at a time, even though I've read articles that say it is safe to do so. Some articles say it is healthier to skip periods, especially if you are anemic or have very painful periods.

I've never done it before, skipped a period, I mean, and I don't plan on fucking anyone. :)

It's just that I'm going to be on a plane for 7 hours, then a hotel, then a friend's house, and I really don't want to be dealing with my period. Also, the dresses are a little revealing, and with my body for some reason tampons don't always do what they're supposed to do. It's probably "user error" LOL but still...

Lilminx are you on Ortho TRI cyclen or just regular Ortho Cyclen?

Ortho TRI cyclen :)
I've been on it for years, skipped my period a number of times, and I've never had a problem.

You might want tot call your gynecologist first and get his or her opinion, however.
