have any of you read the multi-chapter story The Devilles, and if so,is it worthy of someone writing a sequel to it?

Oh come on! Non-human we have covered around here, it's that pesky 'author' part . . .

I've been called inhuman before . . . :p

Regarding the OP, if you are not MonickerSmith, who wrote the seven-part series The Devilles, then it really isn't your place to write a sequel, unless you have the approval of the original author. There's nothing legally stopping you from picking up where he left off (correct me if I'm wrong on that, sr71), but it would be in bad taste.

I haven't read the series, just took a peek at it on the story list. All seven chapters are rated H, so that's a good sign of its popularity. You might consider borrowing the story idea and writing your own series.

MonickerSmith hasnt been on Lit in more than 2 years from what ive seen, thats why ive been curious to see if anyone plans on taking over where he left off,i think its a well-written series that deserves a sequel, and ive been hoping someone out there might be willing to tackle that project based on what MonickerSmith started 2 years ago

There's not much hope of that happening, I'd say. If you aren't willing to write a sequel, asking someone else to do it would be even more difficult.

Have you PMed MonickerSmith and asked him about it? He may not be active anymore, but he may still check his Lit account once in a while.

Ask and ye shall receive! ;)

I have only written a ghost story and a couple of celebrity tentacle sex stories. I never read the particular series you are asking about.

Well, if you want to wait 70 years past the author's death for his rights to expire, you won't have anyone saying that, at the minimum, you are presumptive. Until then, you can get away with doing it without the author's permission . . . legally. Morally? Not so much.
