I'm not particularly sure that this is where this post goes, so Mods, feel free to move it if necessary.

I'm a 19 year old virgin, who is currently living in the college dorms.

I looking into buying my first vibrator, but dont' know where to begin. Can anybody recommend one with good vibrations, that is super quiet?

Any recommendations are welcomed

If you want something quiet that still works well I would go with the Fukuoku 9000 Finger Massager quiet enough and works well hope that helps!

I have had partners in the past who've had success muffling the sounds of a more powerful vibrator with a pillow. It also provides a nice sensation of "fullness" between the legs that can for some girls increase the intensity of their orgasm. I would wholeheartedly recommend the Lelo brand, any product. The "Nea" is particularly popular from what I'm told, it is the favourite of a couple girls I know.

Pocket Rockets

My first vibrator was a Pocket Rocket. They are the best-selling mini massagers in the world, and for good reason. They work. Despite their small size the are fairly powerful and discrete. I recommend the Pocket Rocket Plus (has 3 speeds) over the original. Lots of power and will get you off. I still love pocket rockets even though I now own $300 toys. Oh, and they are fairly cheap too, between $1-$50.

I own all the Leos and while I love them, they are not as powerful as the pocket rockets (allow quieter). And, while the Fukuoku is quiet & discrete, I didn't find it had suitable power to get me off.

Have fun getting your first vibe!

ooh honey

Well I find your plight rather sexy sweetheart, and since I was in your same place 7 years ago, I'll let you know what I did. It ended up being embarassing b/c all my friends saw when I got the package, but I had one of my many Lit tutors send me a vibe he thought would be the best for a budding 19 year old virgin who had very little experience but wanted more. I luckily had my own dorm room, so I was able to explore quite a bit. I was sent the Blue Dolphin, and I would use it while I was on the phone with him, and did he ever make me cum!! I loved that vibe, and though I eventually moved on to more advanced models, and then men (!) I always remember that Blue Dolphin.

I can't personally get behind the Pocket Rocket. I even got the one advertised as their strongest model and it still did nothing for me. Of course, I like things really rough and turn multispeed vibes all the way up, so I'm probably pretty low on the sensitivity scale.

Seasoned Pro

infinity706- Usually for women who have never had a vibrator, they don't need as much intensity as a seasoned pro. Of course everyone's sensitivity is different as well. If she is looking for the most powerful (yet not discrete and very loud) then I would have recommended the Hitachi. But, she wanted power, discrete and quiet. A smaller, more discrete and quieter version of the Hitachi is the Fairy Wand which is actually more powerful than the Hitachi. But I think you can only get it at MYpleasure.com in the UK.

Yeah, I know most women wouldn't need that much intensity. Of course, the Pocket Rocket was my first vibrator, years ago. It was too weak even back then, so it just depends.

oddly, the rabbit is proving to be fairly meh for the mrs. i guess there's one in every crowd?

first vibe wasn't so hot

My first vibe when i was 20 was the standard hard plastic, twist the knob type. It vibrated and it worked but was rather sterile. I wan't found of the hard plastic inside me.

A friend latter turned me on to the standard bullet. It doesn't go inside, it's more for clitoral stimulation. It's not as intimidating as a big vibrator either. It might make a good choice for a first vibe. And believe me, it works very well. I've been through at least 10 of the things. I have great orgasms to this day with one and it's great to use with my bf too. I've recently had as many as 5 orgasms with him inside me and me using my bullet on my clit.

Of course I have a wide variety of vibes now and I enjoy them for different reasons (size, intensity, texture). But I would start with something simple and not to large. I haven't had the best luck with rabbit vibes, but many women swear by them, and they are the first thing you see in an adult store.

I hope that helps and good luck. Orgasms are very healthy for you!
